Only been here once so maybe I am way off about what it's normally like but on our one visit this is what we found.
Very small bar that has a bunch of regulars +1
It's very small inside and got uncomfortably hot -1
Tthe service was fine but could be slow when they were busy (that's acceptable.) 0/0
Drinks were average in strength and the price was reasonable. 0/0
In the end though I would be remiss if I didn't mention the hotties - absolutely none, think typical Spokompton girl who doesn't have time to work out because she is too busy keeping the tattoo artist, piercer and roll your own shop in business. - 1
So we walk in with a neutral opinion (3 stars) and it ends up with 2 Stars because some of the visuals we saw were hurtful to the eye.
NOTE: To all the good looking Spokane women that go here - you just weren't there on the night we were, sorry but I have to call it like I see it, if next time you are there I will change my review.
Small draft selection. Â Other than domestic, they do have micro's. Â
The night I went, the bartender didn't know how to make an Old Fashioned (bourbon, bitters, sugar, cherry, orange zest), but he made up for it by adding more whiskey :) Â Great patio.
I will probably never drink inside.
Slow service, I had to wait 12+ min for a beer, and the line was 5 people deep (Wednesday evening).
I've been here three times, and every experience has been bad.
The first time, a bunch of hot rodders were there gunning their engines loudly in the parking lot. Then they began drag racing on Garland. Very noisy and wild.
The second time, it took much too long to get drinks. I was there over an hour and managed to get two beers.
The third time, I waited in line (behind only two people) long enough to see two commercial breaks on ABC Family (which was playing on the TV). Then, I ordered a Coors Light (which is the only domestic they have on tap--no biggie) and he gave me a bottle of Coors Light. Didn't ask if I wanted a bottle. Just gave me one. Heck, even the surly bartender at Mootsy's asks me if I want bottle or draft. Then, a Garland pub crawl stopped by and a drunk woman kept shrieking in my ear.
Now, I know I'm getting nitpicky, but I hoped to have ONE positive experience there. Hasn't happened yet. The crowd when I have been there has been crazy loud, and the staff has been slow and unfriendly.
On the plus side, it does have a dartboard and skee-ball.
The bartender Miiles was awesome to the women tonight. Giving half of shots to all women and also whoring himself out. I'll never go back here bc I spent A lot of money here and brought clients here, but when he is on duty men don't matter and he is the owner of the bar. Any owner dosent send people away. Â He needs to learn that his customer base is all not women. Good luck Miles to your bar. Â As a blue collar man this place is not for men, women get service and men get to go to revolver. It's way more bartender friendly.
Review Source:I really like this place! It is by far my choice for Garland District drinking. :) I might be a little biased though, my best friend does work there.... But even when she's not working, we still like to hang out. It has become the bar of choice for myself and all of my co-workers. The drinks are always great, prices are more than reasonable, the service staff is generally friendly, and skee-ball kicks butt! My only complaint is that the menu leaves a little something to be desired.... Don't get me wrong, I realize this isn't a restaurant, but a little something other than a Hungry Man would be awesome! Love you guys! Thanks for everything!
Review Source:Big fan. I'd like something more in the way of food, but hey: it's not called Garland Restaurantery.
The place is laid out thoughtfully. I tried it for the first time because of the lovely sign outside. I guess there is a classic car bellhop motif going on, because one of the other typefaces is very zoom-zoom hot rod. Once you hear the history of the building and banter with the occasional automobile enthusiast, it kind of makes sense.
Me? I'm in the corner on my MacBook working like usual, wondering how I got so lucky that 4 blocks away there is a great nightspot that has wifi, good pours, and friendly staff.
the jewel of the garland district. cheap with out being a dive. bill and the girls have a smile on their faces every time i show up. they take good care of my club (blacktop terrors) and me. have to say i like the staff is one of the friendliest in town. should be 4 and a half after all the rick astley at the pub crawl, haha.
Review Source:Very rude, arrogant bartenders without soliciting for their crass, ignorant comments. Maybe because I am not "white" i received their unwarranted harassment, like a two by four across the side of my head. Â Pricey drink with short pour, why bother. Â "My kind" is not wanted there. My friends, business associates, including other Garland District business owners, Â will be discouraged from patronizing this small joint.
