We stopped by here after a day at Kings Canyon. We initially went to a place in Dunlap called Twin Valley Restaurant, but came here after because the food at Twin Valley was so incredibly awful. Gena was at the bar chatting up customers and was very nice. She is also the cook and made me a great chicken melt. She also came over and talked to us while we were enjoying our food (she is a talker). We were pretty much the only people in the place but that could have been because it was almost 9pm. I would come here again if we were ever in the area.
Review Source:Based on  LOCATION + VALUE + AMENITIES, I give Gena's Place FIVE Stars! I had the prime rib Friday night, and WOW!!! Now not a five star restaurant, but for a small bar - restaurant - motel, it has great a great location, friendly service, and when you have been accommodated too well with great food and good drinks, not to mention the awesome prices,  they have a clean room for you to stay in! I spent $45 on my prime rib, five jack and cokes, and a tip, so I opted for the $40 room as well rather than the drive home. I WILL BE BACK!!! :)
Review Source:On a cold night in October, my husband and I left the Sequoia National Park looking for some hot food. Â We chanced upon this place. Â I ordered the 6 oz. top sirloin, which came with soup or salad, and a choice of two sides. Â
I haven't eaten red meat in awhile. Â This was an excellent time and place for my foot to slip. Â The meat was tasty and jiocy, not at all tough or dry. Â The clam chowder was super yummy. Â It had more clam than potato. Â I was concerned that an establishment so far inland would rely on tasteless, canned soup, but that wasn't the case.
There is a pool table as well as live music (on some nights)
This is a great place to have a tasty meal after a day of hiking and sight-seeing. Â I would definitely recommend Gena's!
Also has a small motel attached.
