Fried chicken...that is all I can say. Â Absolute best fried chicken is located here. Â We started off with a 1/2 order of onion rings extra crispy and you gets lots and lots of them! Â You will need a to go box here! Â Okay back to the onion rings they are crispy and peppery, delicious! Â The fried chicken is cooked perfectly and the white meat is juicy. Â Now lets get to dessert the best part. Â I got peanut butter pie and my other half got strawberry cream cake and oh my was it the most amazing pie of cake I have ever had. Â Peanut butter pie was awesome but the strawberry cream cake was out of this world! Â The cake was moist, icing was amazing and it is beautiful! Â One piece serves 3! Â This piece of cake was huge and I think was only about $3-4! Â There prices are incredibly cheap and their food was five stars, same as their service!
Review Source:I have been going to Gils since I was a kid - over 30 years. Decor is very country. Consistently good food and friendly small town service. Â Well worth the drive from Peoria. Â The always full large dining area - I think it is half the size of Hanna City - confirms the quality of this restaurant.
Review Source:i'm from the South where fried chicken is an art form. my mom would slap me if she heard me say this is the best fried chicken i have ever had. oh, except hers of course. we save this place for special occasions but i swear i could eat there every night. it has a nice bar that you can hang out at while you wait...and unless you get there early on a weekend, you will wait! but it is so worth it! one of my favorite restaurants EVER!
Review Source:Wednesday evening special is the best: Fried Chicken Dinner. Â
If you like authentic home-cookin' (American style restaurant), look no further than Gil's Supper Club (it's not really a "club" anymore). Â The restaurant is smoke-free & is attached to a smaller bar, The Warehouse, that serves pizza, burgers, & bar food. Â If you're traveling through on Route 116 or want to get out of the city for some small town cookin', stop by Gil's.
