  Small-town, big discovery! The Giovanni's in Martin is definitely the best Italian place around to get a sub, salad, or pizza. If you're driving by and plan to go through Martin in your route, I DEFINITELY recommend this casual, yet sophisticated eatery that all families will enjoy.

  The Martin Giovanni's is legendary.  I don't remember a Martin without Giovanni's.  Within the last few years they moved into a new building and added a buffet-- which I've never tried but hear is just great. It must be true because there is hardly a spot to park in during lunch time.
  
  The old location survived a number of floods in downtown Martin and the building had taken a lot of damage.  The new location is much nicer and more likely to avoid future flood damage.
  
  The subs and pizza are good.  My favorite subs are the steak or the italian.  They're always hot and tasty, but the cooks tend to go crazy with the onion.  Imagine an actual tomatoe-style full-cut of onion, rather than just pieces like everywhere on else serves.  No big deal. You might like it, or you could pick some of them off, or you could just ask for less onion.  I have no doubt that they'd be happy to comply.
  
  The pizza is the greasiest pizza I've ever seen. It's also very thin pizza and is cut into squares rather than pie slices.  Many are turned off by the greasy pizza but others love it.  I learned to love it.
