The views from the beautiful location were tarnished by the rude hostess.  We sat ourselves in the bar area for the relaxed feel (no kids) and no one told us that live music would be setting up right next to us.  Afte 15 minutes we had to flag down staff to take our drink order.  After an entire hour we had only been served olives.  Finally complained to the hostess who advised us that she was aware of the issues in the kitchen.  Food was average - definetely not gourmet.  Service was awful.  They actually served my friend a glass of syrah and when we finally got the attention of the waitress for another glass she was told they were out.  Really...it's a wine bar.  Hostess tried to save the day by catching us at the exit with truffles.  A little late to change our mind about the restaurant.  What a shame because the views are amazing.

I love this place! Having relocated to the area, I was so thrilled to find this gem. It has everything I would want in a great venue and is well worth the drive. Where else in NEPA can you sit on a deck beside a beautiful natural gorge/waterfall, listen to live music, be taken care of by attentive service staff, taste flavorful fresh foods and sip from a well-curated beer and wine list? This place is a classy and contemporary culinary find in NEPA. I have not stayed at the hotel yet, but would love to steal away for a night as it is in a beautiful location and also offers great amenities. For me, this place is the standard in the area. While I happily give it 5 stars, I would suggest that management monitor the volume of the live and piped in music as it was a bit hard to chat. This place is well-suited to an acoustic performance. Also, the prices are more big city than local PA, but for a special night or a treat for out-of-towners, this place is perfect!

I think a lot of the earlier reviews can be chalked up to growing pains, because the restaurant my wife and I just dined at was noting short of a five star establishment. The star of the show is certainly the setting, but the service and food were excellent as well. We had the following:
    - crab dip: excellent
    - artichoke dip: very good
-Asian ribs: very tender, very tasty though could have been warmer.
    - chicken wings: much more like fried chicken for my liking, but my wife gave them an A+
Lamb sliders: burger itself was juicy and tasty, but the buns dry it out a bit.

As a guide for future diners, my wife and I are great eaters and this was way more than enough food. The lamb, wings, and ribs are pretty much full fledged entrees.

Our server Michael was also very nice and helpful. Great guy. He'll be more than happy to walk you through the menu.

Holy cow!  What great food, service and the view was outstanding. All the dips where perfect, the Asian baby back ribs where so tender, and the best Margarita Pizza I have ever had.

Much like the hotel this establishment is attached to, this restaurant is amateur hour.

Mediocre, LOUD live music was playing when we walked in the (back?) entrance.  We awkwardly stood at the bottom of a staircase and were blankly stared at by several employees before a clueless hostess approached us and advised us she would look for a place at the bar to seat us.  I don't think I've ever been "sat" at a bar, either, but that may just be my life experience.  Not to mention that  I was staring at a clean, empty two-top.

We followed her, she lost us in the live music crowd, we returned to our original waiting place, and she never came back.  Several more minutes with several more employee stares went by before the only efficient waiter in the place came up to us and sat us at the aforementioned empty table.

I requested he remain our server if possible, since he was the only competent person we had come across since being at Glass, and Hawley, PA doesn't exactly offer up too many other restaurant options if we wanted to bail on this place.  I wish I could remember his name - because he gets 5 stars for being friendly, knowledgeable and aware of how to deliver good customer service. ,

The food was just about passable.  It's a large menu with mainly small plates (different dips, olives, etc.).  We ordered a cheese plate and spinach salad to split.  The salad was dressed unevenly in an overly garlicky dressing; the ratio of spinach to nuts/dried fruit/cheese was kind of depressing.  The cheese plate was OK, mostly because who doesn't like cheese, but honestly I could have made a better one with ingredients from Stop & Shop.  Presentation was lacking.  Drinks were fine.

Weird hours for a hotel restaurant, you couldn't get breakfast or lunch, or grab a drink before 4:30 PM.  The outside seating looked nice, with a beautiful view, but we were there in February and couldn't really take advantage of it.

The atmosphere was great - the view of the falls was nice (earning 1 star).  Our waiter was nice and attentive.  The food, which is the most important thing to me when going to a restaurant, was totally LACKING.  +Food gets one star out of four...thats 25% people.

    We started with:

Caramelized Onion Dip Sweet Potato Waffle Fries - OK

Creamy Crab Dip served with Grilled Flatbread - OK

Pineapple Salsa served with House-made Tortilla Chips - OK, nothing special and chips were burnt

    We ended with:
LEMON BRAISED KALE WITH CHICKPEAS - OK

FRENCH ONION SOUP BITES - tasty but really there wasn't anything there.  I've seen tapas with soup in shot glasses, but this was just a tiny bit of food on a spoon.  Don't waste your time here, you would need 10 orders to equal a bowl of soup.

MUSHROOM TRUFFLE RISOTTO  - I'm not sure this was actually risotto...the risotto that i've had was delicious and creamy.

MAC AND CHEESE - cold upon arrival.  Not good- if I had my choice again I would take the blue box mac and cheese over this, it was tasteless

CHICKEN POT PIE IN A SKILLET - wait, there was supposed to be chicken in here?  Pot pieness?  This looked like a mini pot pie at first, but when you cracked it open it was like an empty present.  Not hearty, a sad sad excuse of a pot pie

BUFFALO SLIDERS WITH DUCK CONFIT - the best thing I had all night.  These were tasty and the only reason the good got any stars.

Don't go here if you want to eat some food...go here if you want a drink.  The people that own this place need to travel around and see how good tapas restaurants, like Viva Madrid in Claremont, CA do it.

Had a wonderful time!! My wife and I had a great date night. It was a cold snowy night. The Glas & Wine Bar was very cozy and the food was rich and delicious perfect for a cold wintery night!!! the staff was very attentive and informative.  Can't beat the wine list for 25 dollars and under!!! Will definitely revisit again and again!!!! Kudos Glass & Wine Bar. Great find in Hawley!!!!

Wow! Hidden, secluded off the main road.  I love the stone architecture outside with modern setting inside.  Bistro staff very friendly and didn't ignore you after the dishes were served.  Dishes are small plates and meant to be shared with ur dinner party.  However, we were very full after one appetizer and 2 small plates.  Didn't have room for dessert.  The baked crab cake was great but the chicken curry with rice was awesome.  The ingredients were very fresh! I will return to try the scallop and avocado BLT that was sold out!

I had a seat in front of the fireplace and a view of the trickling falls on my last visit.  Cheese plate, French onion bites, mac and cheese, and flat breads all very good.  Cheese puffs kind of tasteless.  Spinach salad was tasty but portion too big if not sharing.  The highlight was our server Doug.  He was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing.  Marla does a great job running the place too.  I really hope they open for lunch during the week when the weather gets warmer...or at least continental type breakfast offerings for morning meetings on the deck.

I could not be happier.  This is exactly what I've been looking for since moving to the area.  The wine list is extensive, plenty of options below $25/bottle.  The food was amazing. Just amazing.  We ordered 3 cheese and 3 charcuterie.  The cheese portions were as expected, the meat was piled high.  The venison ham was amazing.

We also ordered the sweet potato fries and the lamb sliders.  Both were excellent.

All in all we most certainly will be back.  I just wish we knew about this sooner.

Ok. Tough one to review because the food was mostly delicious, the ambiance great, but the service was terrible. I'll rephrase that, the server was placed in a terrible position by the kitchen and the bar staff.

The positives: the food  was actually great. Decent selection for vegetarians, if you're into meat they have every type available including venison. I stuck to the non meat foods. The drunken spanish goat cheese tapas was the best part of my meal. The goat cheese was paired with honey, a berry jam, grapes, and some water crackers. The mac n cheese was great, totally delicious comfort food. The tomato and onion flat bread was a surprise delight. (full disclaimer: i hate tomato's). The cheese empanada's were a bit disappointing, it felt like it was missing something.

The view of the water fall was spectacular and even after the sunset the sound of the waterfall was awesome. I'd only suggest they add a spotlight at night to see the water. But hey, that's just me.

The not so good. The waitress was doing her best with a bad situation. The kitchen clearly forget a few of the items my friends ordered. It became painfully evident when the timing of the tapas dishes slowed down and they brought a double of something already delivered. The waitress promised to get to the bottom of it and to her credit did. She sent the chef's apology for the the mix up and promised to find out the how long it would take. The manager came over to update us on the situation. Unfortunately, things got weird when one person decided to cancel their dish and another asked for a to go box. The manager rolled with it and took the items off the bill but there was a underlying tension there. What really escalated the situation was the bill.

We had the bill split into three with two of us paying with cards and one with cash. We got our charge slips  but the cash person was told she could get her change at the bar, if she wanted it. Ok, that's kinda not a good idea.  It kind find like she expected to keep the change. Upon approaching the bar you could tell tell the bartender was missing in action with the bill and cash just sitting there. After a small chat with the manager, the bar tender showed up and processed the cash. Bring the change back, it's just a customer service thing.

I'd eat there again. The food warrants a second visit. I'd be cautious but open to the service just keeping in mind the first experience of my friend.

    Beautiful atmosphere and friendly service.

Menu can use a bit of work. My friend and I ordered the Parmesan, Asiago and Black Pepper Cheese Puffs. To my disappointment, they resembled dry dinner rolls. There was no black pepper and the flavor of cheese was faint. They need to be served with some kind of sauce. Waitress brought us some of the mac and cheese sauce which was a perfect compliment.

We then ordered the French Onion Soup Bites which were quite tasteful but not really that filling. For an entree, I ordered the Duck Confit, Ricotta, and Caramelized Onion Ravioli. There was barely any duck and the dish seemed quite watery and lacked flavors.

My friend ordered the Grilled Petite Filet Mignon which was actually the star of the show. The meat was juicy, tender and melted in our mouth. If I go back, that will definitely be what I order.

They are still fairly new and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with the menu.  Overall, good work everyone.
