We make it a point to stop by the Glenn at least once every time we are in the area. Â Brunch/breakfast here is really great. Â While I'd normally give the Glenn 4 stars, our most recent visit over Labor Day weekend was really amazing. Â
The pancakes here are as good as advertised; the biscuits and gravy are the perfect balance of creamy, salty, sausagey goodness. Â This visit our table ventured into some of the newer offerings. Â Fried green tomatoes and chicken and waffles. Â
The fried green tomatoes were the best any of us had ever had, and we've spent plenty of time in the south and at restaurants that do a great job with them (Big Jones in Chicago is a good example). Â The cornmeal breading was perfectly seasoned; the texture was spot-on; and the thick, tangy tomato slices made these feel somehow not greasy. Â Absolutely phenomenal! Â It's a seasonal thing, so they won't be around all year, but if you stop by the Glenn in the next few weeks, you won't be disappointed!
Again, the chicken and waffles surprised us. Â Well seasoned, perfectly cooked. Â The chicken wasn't breaded, but was delightfully crispy and flavorful. Â Throw in the waffles and some delicious maple syrup and it was heaven! Â
Have a bloody mary, too -- no Mrs. T's here, just homemade sauce and deliciousness. Â
Can't recommend this gem enough!
Another trip to the Glenn and not disappointed. Thursday night they feature a Mexican only menu and Chef Tony knocks this one out if the park. Flavors are truly authentic and offer a wide variety of fun for your taste buds. It's where to go when on Blue Star. If you are hungry for great eats then be at the Glenn, and if it's Thursday night, don't miss Mexican night.
Try the Fajitas De Res, Quesadilla, or enchiladas suizas, all are phenomenal.
Oh and they have Macintosh Hard Cider on tap too, not even mad about that.
The restaurant has reopened the decor is beautiful and the breakfast omlet was light and fluffy. Â They even cook the bacon to order, so I had lazy bacon. Â Delightful staff the chef even ventured into the dining room to make sure everything was going okay! Â Don't miss it if you are in the area.
