Glenwood Canyon Brewing

This place is a sub-par tourist trap. My friends and I've made better food and beer. Their fare is in a word: lackluster. There isn't a single item they specialize in that sets them apart from, say,  KFC.

I am a local, and have to say that I have NEVER once had bad service or encountered a rude person. As a matter of fact, it is the one place in town that I know I can always have great service! I went in tonight and expected to order my old standby, my favorite meal when I'm having a bad day. Although I was very sad to see the menu has changed, our server Sean had a great attitude and all smiles while dealing with my inability to cope with change. I didn't love my meal, BUT the charm of the atmosphere and even more-the charm of the staff turned what could have been a disappointment into a great experience.

I must tell you that we tried to recreate our favorite burger using the new menu, and for us it didn't work. I loved the old pretzels that were soft and golden yellow and easy to pull apart into little pieces. I loved the old fries. I loved the old burgers. After talking at length with the manager Kori I learned that the new chef is focused on fresh, fresh, fresh, and the menu changed only about 4 weeks ago. I think a good menu is like a good cast iron skillet, it takes time to be seasoned correctly. I have hope that the positive attitude of management and staff will help the new chef dial in exactly what has made this one of my favorite places to eat.

So, no, I didn't love my meal, but I didn't really order off the menu either, and I could have really missed out on something new and good by being unwilling to give up my old standby.

Don't let the new menu scare you, enjoy the smiles of the staff, the excitement of the tourists, and enjoy!

I love their Strawberry Daze beer but you can only get it the weekend of Strawberry Days.  Not sure why they don't brew it all year round...

I'm a local and have been going to this place for 2 years.  They recently changed the menu and I'm not a fan.  They have Burger and a Beer on Thursday's for $10 (used to be $9).  The chef can't cook a med-rare burger to save his/her life.  I agree with the other reviews about how RUDE the bartender is...she is unreal.  If I'm going to pay over $20, I would like to have a server who wants me there.  

They need to hire nicer people...good thing they have growlers so I don't have to experience the bad service.  If it changes, I will delete this review but something's got to change.
