I have had breakfast here a couple times now. The portions are large and the food was great. The biscuits and gravy are very traditional, sausage gravy piled on top of homemade biscuits served with bacon and eggs. The Belgium waffle topped with strawberries is another great choice. I want to go at lunch next time because their salad bar is large with lots of choices.
Review Source:I feel like writing a review on Gloria's is kicking someone when they're down, but instead I'll use it as an opportunity to warn others. Â We stopped for breakfast and wanted to support a local business. Â Unfortunately Gloria's cook was not feeling as supporting of us the customer. Â Biscuits and gravy isn't difficult, but if this was your first try at this dish you'd never eat it again. Â The side of ham we ordered arrived 10 minutes after the rest of the meal. Â Was it difficult to heat this slice up or what? Â Coffee was gut-rot at best. Â Not going to go on anymore, just heed my warning and some of the others who have as well on Yelp. Â
The worst part is I have to go to a "family celebration" here soon, no opting out of it.
So I have heard about Gloria's from different people and I always passed it so, so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. It was NOT what I expected. It was rundown with horrible decorations and so blah. Then are waitress was such a snot, I mean do we have to be a senior citizen for her to be nice to us? That's how I felt! Horrible service and will never go back!
Review Source:This restaurant has been around for as long as I've known, and I have no idea how it's still in business. I last ate here less than a year ago for free because of a talk that was being held and I'm glad I didn't pay a dime.
Everything was either flavorless or over seasoned with salt. Only the desserts were decent, and those were mostly pudding based.
I would never in a million years eat at Gloria's for any other meal but breakfast. Â If you decide to eat breakfast, keep your order simple and you should be just fine. Â Servers are super friendly and helpful, they keep your coffee cup filled and the food comes quick!. Â I eat breakfast here when I can but most of the time I go to their sister restaurant Nikki's cause its closer.
Review Source:This place has been around for a long time. Last time I ate here (2011) I had the baron of beef with a baked potatoe and a piece of coconut cream pie. The baron of beef and the slice of pie were decent but the baked potatoe came straight from Wendys. The place was clean and the waitress was nice. Their prices need to come down just a tiny bit though.
Review Source:My wife and I have eaten in many restaurants on 5 continents, ranging from fine dining to tiny family cafes to street vendors in Mexico. Tonight Gloria's delivered the worst meal either of us has ever been served. Fortunately the waitress was a fun and positive person so we just finished what we could and left her a nice tip. She will need it because we predict the workers there will soon be unemployed.
What was billed as chicken fried steak consisted of some sort of reprocessed slab of what looked and tasted like sawdust. Honestly, we have never seen anything so awful.
Stay away!
It's the first time that we tried it today after always driving by this place on the way to work or out of the valley. I was scared and hoped it was not like Cedar Grill.
Good thing I was totally wrong! Yay!! Thank goodness we tried it out.
The service was awesome and the waitresses were nice. Â I ordered coffee and they made sure that my cup never ran out. They checked on every table and made sure waters and coffee were filled. Â
It was Sunday and they had a breakfast buffet going on till 1:30pm, but I ordered an omelette instead. I had the taco omelette and husband had an italian sausage omelette. Both came with toast and hash browns. Yum! Filling and delicious.
Next time I will try the buffet.
Gloria's is not a very good restaurant.  The only time you can eat good  food is when the right cook is there.  The other cook doesn't seem to be able to even boil water.  The food is bland.  It appears they mix items with other items to stretch it.  The food is never hot and they use a very low quality type of food.  The buffet is pretty tasteless also.  Very over priced.  Fair service.  The waitresses are over worked.  They need to add more people at peak times.  The utensils and plates are not always clean.  The invironment is extremely loud.  Not a good place to eat.  Only neighbors eat here to socialize.
Review Source:I think this place has great food and good service. The owner is an extremely nice guy as well. I think it's funny how all of the good ratings for this establishment seem to mysteriously disappear into the "filtered" area. I wonder if it has anything to do with...politics?
Either way, this restaurant is a great spot to patron in MP...keep up the good work!
i used to eat there when i lived in maplevalley, it was alright, nothing special. The last time I was there (which will be the last time) the waitress came over to us once maybe twice. She wouldn't take our order she wouldn't get us drinks we couldn't even get the bill from her. We ended up having to flag down the guy that cleans the tables to get anything! She was rude and I really hope she doesn't work there any more. We ended up tipping her a couple penny's and we gave the bus boy a $20.
Review Source:(It's been pointed out to me that my initial review of Gloria's was very harsh. Â So, let me say first off that the service was very prompt, and the servers were all very nice, and the food was not terrible. Â Having said all that, I will be very reluctant to give it a second try.)
I've seen the face of a dying restaurant, and it is Gloria's.
When we arrived the place was pretty empty. Â The server was nice but seemed really young and a little inexperienced... Â (I originally thought she was in highschool. Â In fact she is 19. Â Man I am getting old.)
Gloria's needs some updating. Â Some people will find a dated interior comforting or charming, I did not. Â Next to our table was a rotating refrigerated display case that was half-empty. Â Half of the case's interior lights were burned out. Â It felt to me like a metaphor for the whole restaurant. Â
I thought that given the location and condition of Gloria's, the food would be a bargain. Â But the impression I got looking at the menu was that everything was on the pricey side, for a greasy spoon anyway. Â (This has been disputed so I will let you the reader decide next time you are at G's.) Â Once again, maybe I am getting old and just don't realize what things cost anymore. Â Inflation + ignorance = grumpy reviewer.
My hamburger was just okay. Â My Dad swears by the buffet, but that, too looked just so-so. Â The hot chocolate was waaaaay too sweet. Â
This place might qualify as a hip sort of truck stop/dive/retro diner, if it had more charm. Â But Denny's or Shari's, which also lack charm, both have cleaner, brighter interiors, updated menus and equivalent or lower prices. Â Sorry, Gloria.
