After finding The Grape Adventure on the Gravy app.; I went there. The food is absolutely excellent. Â Scott is knowledgeable and interesting To talk to regarding wine. Prices are decent and the wine is excellent. Â I enjoyed the atmosphere of being surrounded by the racks of wine too.
Thanks for a great lunch and wine tasting.
Only the second time in my life visiting Kent, so I whip out the Yelp! app and search for  "$$$ wine nearby" and find this place which is in a somewhat ramshackle strip mall.  Sure, why not.
This is a nice locally owned wine shop, bar, restaurant & espresso stand. Â Big place. Â
Here is the most memorable detail.  The waiter (very nice guy) went to the table next to us and broke out in a deep, operatic rendition of "Happy Birthday To You" in Italian.  Obviously he was professionally trained, and I'm guessing moonlighting somewhere at a nearby theatre.  Wow.  You don't get that at the stale corporate wine bars like Purple.  Bravo, che è stato un grande pezzo di una canzone, isnpired e molto talento. Voi ragazzi cazzo di rock!  They had live music that night, and later said waiter and one of the waitress did a couple improv songs.  Sweet.       .     .
Had a multilingual night, thus the variety of languages used here.
Cespedes just hit a 2-run bomb! Â Sorry, got distracted.
Wine menu by the glass and bottles is very nice. Â Bottle mark up is fair.
Small plate menu is extensive.  Stuff 'shrooms and spicy nuts were great.  The antipasta was a little light for my taste, but  just spent 2 weeks in Europe so my reference points were a little out of kilter. Â
Dinner menu has nice variety and what I saw & smelled served was tempting. Â But Mexican food was on my mind so I skipped dinner. Â
A definite must visit. Â Worth driving out of the way for? Â Yes. Â But make sure its live music night.
I am so glad that this place exists. Â It is really a great, personal wine shop with a great restaurant inside. Â The food is fantastic and Scott and Katie are very approachable about wines and cater to your tastes. Â
If you plan to come here often, consider joining the wine club. Â There really is no catch. Â You get FREE tastings once a week, and the fee is two bottles of wine, picked for your preferences once a month, always under 30 dollars. Â With the membership, they also allow you to pick out wines while you eat and drink them at the bar with no corkage fee, and take the rest home. Â Totally worth it!
As many people have stated, they will turn you away on busy nights if the have several reservations, but that has never bothered us. Â I think it is nice to know that if I do ever make a reservation, we can rest assured knowing we won't have to wait for a table, which is excellent treatment of loyal customers in my opinion.
