I love Goldbelt!

I've been here twice now for lunch.  The first time I had the chicken Philly sandwich, which was great.  We were with a larger group, of which several members had special orders.  Everything came correctly, which was awesome.

The second time, I had the town favorite, a half pound burger.  This was a phenomenal burger!  It was cooked just slightly less than I would have preferred it,but I'd rather had a little under than over for sure.  Deliciously seasoned, fresh toppings, just tasty all around.  And the french fries were good, too.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Honestly, one of the worst dining experiences of my life.

My burger was way overcooked and was really just burnt meat crumbs that weren't even holding together. Imagine a burnt meat sloppy joe. It was absolutely disgusting. As someone who has waited tables for years, I can honestly count on one hand the number of times I've sent food back to a kitchen, and this was without a doubt worthy.

We sat for 30 minutes with the untouched burger on the table, waiting for the server to check on us. (In the meantime, refilling our own drinks) When she finally appeared to bring the check, I showed her my burger. Her response was a very snotty "well I wish you would have told me earlier" and "what do you expect me to do about it now". When I let her know she hadn't been back to the table and had been nowhere to be found since dropping off the food, she threw her hands up and started yelling across the restaurant at us "well just blame me then, whatever...whatever!" as she walked away from our table.

We left cash on the table for the rest of our meal and left. I'm not trying to get into an argument with this woman. Apparently the server didn't think we had left enough money and had the "chef" chase us down the street, calling us thieves and threatening to call the police.

We straightened things out with him, but really?!? 1. You screwed up your food. 2. Your server yelled at us. 3. Let me explain theft to you-it's not stealing from you when I didn't eat the burger. Most folks would have left nothing and walked out.

I know there's not alot to choose from in Ouray, but I would rather not eat than get served grill scraps and then get yelled at for refusing to pay for it. Terrible food, worse service.

If your looking for a gluten free option this is good place.  Otherwise, food is ok.  There were so many flies it was hard to relax.  I loved the outdoors so flies would not normally be something that bothers me, but this was too much.  When I asked for them to do something about it the waitress said there was nothing they could do.  Here a suggestion!  Clean the window sills.  Filthy!  They also got our pizza order wrong.  Overall, not a good experience.
