Good-N-Crisp Chicken

Holy friendly chicken, Batman! At home, we call this place "We Care Chicken" because the folks here really seem to give a crap about service and the quality of their food. Always friendly and kind.

If you show up at 5-6 p.m., when they're prepared for the dinner crowd, the wait at the drive-thru won't be bad. Earlier or later and there will be a 15 minute wait on whatever their special happens to be. The chicken is, in fact, good AND crisp. No lie. Standard chicken joint slaw and taters.

Yes, I'm giving my corner fried chicken place 5 stars...because they truly strive for excellence and I admire the hell out of that. Viva la pollo!

The chicken is definitely not like KFC or Popeye's. It may be more like your grandmother used to make... That is if she soaked it it brine over night and deep fried it with a crumbly crisp layer of plain flour batter. Mine did and I love it. If you happen to like cold chicken left overs this is the place.  It is the only chicken joint that whose delightfully deep fried chicken stays crispy after being refrigerated.  I don't know why nor do I want to.
The major issue is the time it takes to get your food and the unapologetic nature of the staff. It takes FOREVER. I am not exaggerating. It seems like you pull up for lunch and leave finishing you dinner. And don't even think about getting it delivered. We order it at work every so often. If you want it by 12:00 then ask for it to be delivered at 11:15. And then you may still be waiting for another 45 minutes. No joke. It IS really good but the wait sours your taste buds. I must add that if you like livers or gizzards this is the place to go. ... Just be ready for a wait.
