GFs deserves its 4/5 stars. However, the management does not understand the purpose of reservations. Three years now they have taken a reservation and have failed to seat us without a half to a full wait.
This year we made the reservation for 7 adults and three children at a table outside. Two adults arrived early to make certain we would be seated on time. The hostess was readying the table. Eight people arrived and the Manger gave our table to her friends, She told our s outing party there would  be Wait of half to a full hour. We will miss GFs for our annual summer family dinner. There are several equally good options that do honor their reservations. When I am prepared to pick up a $300.00 tab I expect to be treated properly!

Tasty food, including fancy pizzas! It's a bit on the pricey side, but the items I had were worth the cost. The environment and service was pretty nice. However, I would have really liked to see the bar area separated from the main dining room. Maybe it was only during March Madness (help me!) but there was too much shouting at the TV from the bar, in what would otherwise be a lovely dining area.

Good food! Love the Jeremiah pizza. Always good service. Will miss this place when we leave NY. Like the variety of local and national wines. Only disappointment was the canned pears on my salad.

I'm giving this restaurant five stars because I honestly can't think of a single thing to complain about.

The atmosphere is pleasing, especially on a cold winter night.  The large brick oven gives the whole restaurant a homey warmth.

My husband and I shared a Goodfello's salad for two.  It was HUGE (I recommend getting the half-size for two to share) and delicious.  Wonderfully flavorful.  I had The Old School pizza and my husband had The Mussolini.  Both were delicious.  The dough is tossed and pizzas assembled right in front of us.  The crust was really excellent--comparable to the type of crust we found while in Sorrento, Italy.

The waitstaff was competent, friendly, and fast.  The bar was decently stocked with many beers on tap and a very nice wine selection.

    An altogether fantastic dining experience.

We initially went to Sackets Harbor, or as I like to call it, Sackets Hahbuh for some seafood place. We got there and found out the place was closed for the season so we ended up at this place. Now, we walked in (I was with some locals), and I was excited to see the wood fired oven. I thought, "Mmmm pretty classy, Sacket Harbor". It kinda went the opposite of classy from that point on. So, I noticed this place advertised itself as a wine bar, or maybe the locals I was with said it was a wine bar. I don't recall due to hunger but somewhere along the line someone mentioned wine bar. They literally had about 16 different wines, the majority of them overpriced and from California. I asked for Zinfandel and the server immediately told me they were out of pink wine. I'm assuming she meant White Zinny and seeing as how I despise the Zinny I was little offended that she would assume I'd drink that.

On to the food. One of the people in our party asked for lasagna withouth mushrooms, but he was informed the lasagna was pre-made with the mushrooms. I ordered a pasta with shrimp and calamari which was actually pretty good and had a good amount of shrimp. The server brought our dishes out, and as I waited for the freshly grated parmesan cheese, I came to the realization that the freshly grated parmesan cheese wasn't happening as she dropped off our dishes and left. We started tearing into our meals and she came over and realized she hadn't offered us cheese. I thought, "Redemption, girl". I waited for her to bring the cheese over and then it happened. She brought over the powdered deal. Yea, that green can stuff. The stuff you get in packets at the pizza joints. Never would I ever expect this at an actual casual dining restaurant.

    What a fail.

Excellent food! Was not expecting the amazing dinner that we had. Started with brick oven pizza for an appetizer-- delicious-- thin crispy crust, great toppings. For dinner would highly recommend the spinach and goat cheese stuffed  pork chop.  It is wrapped in prosciutto, seared and then finished in the oven. It was moist, tender  and delicious.  I do not typically order pork, but this was amazing! The shrimp and calamari scampi was excellent also. The only problem was too much food to eat it all.  This was as fine a meal if not better than we have had at  any Italian restaurant.

Really excellent pizza in a great area. On the pricey side, but that's Sackett's for you.

Pleasant staff, and truly enjoyable experience.

Loved going there with groups of friends-and is kid-friendly.

LOVE.  Pizzas and a bottle of pinot grigio for Mother's Day lunch.  The prices didn't really bother us -- it's not a chain restaurant (cheers!) and it's in a prime location with decent service and good food.  This place was great for a Sunday afternoon with two small children, but it also looks like it would be a lot of fun on a Friday night (sans kiddos).

This brick oven pizza and wine bar produces the best gourmet pizza's in the Watertown area. Goodfellos has near 16 pizzas to choose from as well as the opportunity to create your own. All favorites! Some of their pizzas are as spicy as you can stand. They've recently created a mandatory consent form to sign before ordering/eating their spiciest pizza served. It doesn't damper the evening in any way though. It makes for, not only a delicious meal, but an interesting dinner filled with conversation. They also serve pastas, salads, and more to appease everyone, but their pizzas and wine bar are the reasons to eat there. The atmosphere is dark, warm, and romantic. The large brick oven taking up a corner of the dinning area adds to the experience. Perfect for a couples night out, but family friendly as well.
For an evening of heartwarming, upscale, Italian food Goodfellos is the place.

    IT'S OPEN.

My last update, "Goodfellos is closed,"  and photo showing the Seized sign apparently "violated guidelines" and were removed from here.  Which is fine because I was getting ready to update again to let people know that it's now open again.  But I'm not a big fan of having my face listed in the filtered reviews section as "deleted for violating guidelines."  But that's my gripe with Yelp, not Goodfellos.

I'm looking forward to frequenting Goodfellos again because I still like their Classic Salad and their pizzas are good. My previous review:

    10/13/11
So now that fall is upon us, it seems like Goodfellos is one of the few places still open.  By now I've been here a good 5-6 times and tried a few of the dishes that I can safely say the food is good.  But I will amend to say that the prices are bit high.  The first time I was here for food I must have gotten an abnormally large portion so I figured even though a bit pricey, I'm still bringing home a good portion for another meal.  But since I've been back, nothing has been that large of a portion.
Most recent visit was for two, I got a pasta dish and my friend got a pizza.  Once you add in a martini (special of the day) for me and a glass of wine for him, which then turn into a bottle for the both of us, the bill was excess of $70.  Over $90 once you add in tips.
I guess my bone to pick with Goodfellos is mainly the service.  It's good, but it's not, at the same time.  The person behind the bar greeting you to take you to the table is so nice and attentive.  The server coming by to take your order is a bit less.  Sometimes we'd sit for over 15 minutes with an empty glass and still no one.  Other times, we'd get asked over and over if we wanted another while still more than half full.  And the $5 martini special ring up as $6.50 on the bill, while the $7 glass of wine rings up also as $6.50.  *scratches head*
I've ordered the 1/2 size Classic Salad for one person before and gotten a huge portion.  Yet when I order the full size salad for pick up, it was literally a tiny bit more than the 1/2 size (but double the price!) plus I had no dressing.  When I called back to ask if I was supposed to ask for dressing the person on the phone was dismissive in attitude, like it was my fault that I didn't check to see if my salad came with dressing before leaving the restaurant.  I did order the 1/2 size salad again recently - and sure enough, it's only a bit smaller than the full size portion, but at half the price.
But once winter hits, I'm sure I'll hit this place up often when I'm in the area because it does have a homey atmosphere.  Plus that giant brick oven doesn't hurt either.

While I had a reservation for one at the bar at Tin Pan Galley, my ears were bleeding when I walked past. Therefore, I kept walking and Good Fellos promise of brick-oven pizza and wine was, well, irresistable. The restaurant was packed, but, fortunately, there was a single seat available in the middle of the bar. The 1812 amber ale - from down the block! - was delicious and the bianco, bianco, bianco pizza was awesome. I highly recommend this place!

There are so few places in the Watertown area that are good to eat at but this place is definitely one of them.  The beer and wine selection is decent.  The apps are kinda lame but you can probably find something good.  If you haven't gone yet give it a shot.

A bit pricey for the area: $20 to 25 for an entree, about $20 for pasta and $12 to $14 for a pizza but this is Sackets Harbor after all. The staff and room are really welcoming, the wood oven across the bar really helps to set the nice atmosphere. They have a decent choice of wines by the glass and draft beers so that's a plus. The food is not out of this world but the ingredients appear to be fresh and the flavor combinations are a bit interesting and well executed.
A good place to spend a nice relaxing evening.

This place has a fairly decent selection of wine and beer. The food is above average with the lasagna being my personal favorite. It's best later at night when the young kids leave out for the other bars.

Opened all year long... in the Winter,  this is an oasis.  The bar crowd is wonderful and friendly.  The meals are stunning.  I've visited Goodfellos many times and find it always consistant.  The quality of the food is great and the menu is very diverse.   Pizzas are ok but the dinners and salads are really where they shine.  Not a place to pass by,  this is a must see.

This place is fantastic! Everything is cooked fresh and it is DELICIOUS! I've just moved to the area with my husband from California, and finding this little gem has been a god-send! You must try Goodfellos at least once!

No it's not New York style as Jim R. mentions below, but it's not meant to be; it's a more upscale Pizza and Wine Bar.  Also, I believe the crux of pizza involves melted cheese.

We had the corceofi pizza with artichokes and a bunch of other veggies to start accompanied by a glass of Bin 705.  Then I had a spinach, strawberry, and fennel salad which had a couple little cheese medallions which had tiny chopped nuts mixed in.  For my entree I had the spicy shrimp pasta special which was surprisingly very spicy; they did not pull any punches.  I finished it off with a Saranac Pomegranate Wheat beer.  An excellent end to the day in the quaint Sacket's Harbor.

New York 'za? Not here....run to Cams in Watertown for the authentic.
You are here for the atmosphere..because if this pizza was pitted against anything south of Utica...it would impode like a Led Zeppelin.

Hot and gooey cheeze? Blech! Go to Pizza Hut for that. Any pizza buff knows that the CRUST is the essential item for a good za. And...the crux of good pizza is the crust...but coming from Chicago, the mecca of the knife and fork doughey goo they call pizza, we'll forgive you.;)

Really good brick oven style pizza.  Nice, homey atmosphere and friendly waitstaff.  The pizza comes out all hot and gooey with cheese, and it's just fantastic.  Definitely recommend this place.
