What can I say, perfect little breakfast nook on the way into Cedar Mtn/Dupont National Forrest. Â Packed up on some energy before a day of hiking.
Enjoyed great coffee and the Cedar Mtn Big Brkfst.
2 eggs over med, sausage, bacon, home fries, and I chose sausage gravy and biscuit. Â Some of the best gravy I've ever had!
Nailed it Grammys!
You could drive by Grammy's and miss it easily on your way between Greenville, SC and Bevard, NC. That would be your loss. Cedar Mountain is a cool little community located along curvy highway 276. There's not much there, but please consider giving Grammy's a visit. And order a biscuit. Any biscuit. But especially a country ham biscuit. And prepare your taste buds for a biscuit just like ... well, like Grammy used to make at home. Light, moist, flaky, absolutely drop-dead delicious. And the ham is a bit salty, packed layer on layer so one bite is a mouthful. And one mouthful leads to another and another. And pretty soon you've eaten two or three. And you're wondering why you didn't stop here before.
Grammy's is a tiny little place, and inside it is bland with perhaps a dozen tables. Lots of locals come by, and the kitchen and waitress seem to know many of them. Service is friendly and can be slow if the place is packed. The breakfast menu has several egg combinations, which are good and filling whether you add bacon or sausage to go with them. You can get lunch here after 11 (though we've never been here then), and on Friday evenings there a prime rib served between 6-8 p.m. with reservations required (the only time you'll need reservations here). The usual hours are 8-2:30 Monday through Saturday and 8:30-2 Sundays.
Yes, we know we gave them four stars, and does Grammy's really rate four stars? Ideally, we would have dined here with reviews on different meals. But it's been just breakfast and mostly ham biscuits. So on that basis alone, we've giving them four stars. We're betting you'll concur if you stop by.
