Great Wall Chinese Restuarant

So I was heading out on 66 West to yet another wine tasting and was hungry. So decided to pull up the Yelp app and look around for some local places and Great Wall came up as one of the higher reviewed places granted it was only five reviews total so I took a chance and this is what I discovered.

First the place is mostly a carry-out establishment like most reviews state. There is a decent sized dine-in area for those who are not in a rush such as myself. We ordered the "classics" General Tso's chicken & beef with broccoli.  

The GT's chicken was more like pop-corn sized bites of chicken. The batter was nice and crisp however the overall chicken pieces were on the small side. In addition the Tso sauce made the entree look more like a soup. It was just all over the plate. The fried rice combo was OK, and the egg roll that came with the meal was OK as well.

The beef with broccoli seemed to taste just fine as with your typical concoction with nothing extra ordinary about it, just your typical beef dish. We also had the egg drop soup which not that tasty it was somewhat sour in it's taste but it was somewhat edible to almost be completed.

The place is not clean as Dawn R stated in her 8/26/11 review. The dinning area could use new carpet which was dirty and ripped in some areas and new chairs which looked like a dog had chewed up the legs. Let's not even talk about the bathroom, just go next door to the Subway you might find it cleaner there.

If you're craving for Chinese stop on through just know it's not the best you'll ever have.

Traditional american style chinese food, a bit pricey but fast and delicious.

Fast service, clean restaurant. Great food & good portions. Prices are very good for the amount of food you get. It was my first visit to this restaurant and I got their version of the combination curry noodles - it was delicious! I also got a shrimp egg roll which wasn't how I expected it, but was still good. They bring out little chip type things with sweet and sour sauce when you're first waited on. I've never seen that before at a Chinese restaurant. The service was great & the food was out in about 10 minutes.
