so it's been over 2 years and 2 bad floodings later and I finally made it back to the Guilford Mooring.  I thought the prices were very reasonable, the service good and the portions very big.  This is a big improvement from the menu after hurricane Irene, which I am told, went too upscale and pricey.  I was satisfied today  (and I can walk to it).  had the shrimp tacos appetizer and it was very spicy and good.  Chopped salad was giant, very good.
Review Source:Almost a year and a half later I returned to finally try the food here today. Â My sister and her family were visiting from out of town and we had a craving for oysters. Â Initially, we started out across the street but it was too crowded so we came here instead.
We chose to sit indoors to get a break from the sweltering heat and it was a wise move as we got a table right away (there probably would have been availability outdoors too, didn't look very busy). Â We ordered a dozen oysters to share. Â Generally, they were ok, but some were gritty, one had a little baby crab running around on it, and the accoutrements were lacking. Â We had to ask for cocktail sauce. Â No mignonette.
The rest of the food was actually pretty good. Â I ordered the broiled haddock and it was fresh and prepared very well. Â My sister and her husband, both excellent cooks and serious eaters, enjoyed their fish and chips and salad. Â Boyfriend ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. Â No complaints there either. Â Our waiter was friendly and competent and the atmosphere was casual but nice. Â I'd come again, maybe, but not for oysters.
