Gumbo Bottoms Ale House

Hands down the best bar in Jefferson City!! The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable, very attentive, and, as an extra perk, great conversationalists. The bar doesn't serve food, but you can bring in food from elsewhere, which is fantastic for people who don't like traditional pub fare. There's always gorgeous (local?) art on the walls and the patrons tend to be friendly as well.

It's a small place open Wed - Sat.   It's low key, nice atmosphere, non smoking & no food.  Good selection of beers for Jeff City.
