We gave this restaurant 5 stars. It has an ambiance that is unique to the character of the Adirondacks, i.e. rustic interior, outdoor dining overlooking a babbling creek. We really enjoyed the wild salmon, grilled ribeye with country mashed potatoes, lobster Mac & cheese and country fresh chicken salad. And, we had a great bottle of Tuscan red wine for only $33. The service was great and the kitchen manager and the owner both spoke to us to ask how our experience was. All in all, great food, unique ambience and great service. We would come back here!

The Cheers of the Adirondacks....  Always lively and fun with an excellent menu. Great for singles, familes or couples with a nice mix of summer transplants and nice locals. Big sit down bar in a large high ceilinged room with many tables. Choice seating is on the rear patio overlooking a babbling brook. also has a quiter more formal dining room tucked in the rear. . Drive past and you'll see a happy clientele spilled out into the front outdoor seating area.  Whatever your pleasure is, be it bellying up to the bar or digging into the great filet special or a bowl of the fresh plump mussles in an herb broth you wont be disappointed. A nice mix of shorts, sundresses and jeans keeps the vibe casual and friendly.

I've been here a few times, and generally the food and service is excellent, albeit the high prices. However, on my latest visit, I ordered one of the chef's daily specials- there was nothing special or even remotely good about the meal. It was supposed to be seared salmon salad, but what it truly was is just a plate full of lettuce with a handful of dry and tasteless salmon pieces. To top off the visit, after the meal was taken away, a staff member came over to ask what I didn't like, and after I told her (whomever she is), she tried to justify that I was mistaken and that the salmon was not in fact dried out, and she proceeded to accuse me of wrongfully assessing my own meal. I found her demeanor very rude and in poor taste, and she in no way demonstrated good customer service.

Northern Lake George suffers from a lack of good restaurants; the town of Hague was no exception.  The Firehouse, right next door to the excellent and upscale Uptown, has helped solve that.

It's casual, good pub food.  My fish and chips was very good; my wife's pork chop was pretty good.  Probably best to stick with the less ambitious parts of the menu.  Has a full bar, and a lively crowd.  Love the stream that runs along the back.

    Recommended.

I'm a regular here and in the interest of full disclosure, a friend of the owners.  But honestly, I just felt compelled to write a review tonight.  its the best place for about a 60 mile radius.  It's always been good for the locals and captive tourists, but the new chef this year has taken the menu to a new level.  I've sampled about a dozen new items and each of them was extremely well prepared with tons of flavor, nice balance, and the right size portions.  I love the grilled dayboat scallop appetizer with warm creamed corn coulis.  The fennel and apple salad is so cool and refreshing.  Tonight's special salad was greens with asian pear, blue cheese, shaved onions and duck confit.  Are you kidding me?  In the North Country?  it was outstanding.  And they FINALLY brought back the burger - excellent quality meat, done anyway you ask for it and served with fresh cut fries.  Sometimes you just gotta have it.  The other reviews give you the atmosphere.  Its a community gathering place, the locals at the bar are surprisingly sophisticated but hilarious, and the owners, Sheri and Cris are truly glad to see everyone who walks in the door.  Go for the food, stay for the fun.  Eat on the porch when it's warm out.  The cool breeze is fabulous off the babbling Hague Brook.

I think that the Hague Firehouse is the best bar and restaurant on Lake George in the Adirondacks.  It's up on the northern end of lake george in hague just a few blocks off the lake.  The building is situated right on a beautiful brook and has an outdoor patio with seating overlooking it.

The new chef this year is great and the pub food is excellent.  My favorites are the fresh salads, the chicken and their fish & chips.

They have a full bar and change up the beers on draft.  They have a new pilsner which I loved this past weekend.  It's also a fun spot to hang out at night.

Sometimes it's busy and takes a while to get a table for dinner but usually you can just grab a beer and hang out by the bar or outside for the table.

My favorite lake george watering hole on the lake and I'll keep coming back.

Great casual dinner spot about half way up the west side of Lake George.  The prime rib was very tasty and the King cut was sizable.  Served with home made mashed potatoes and some veg.

Cool loft like, industrial space unlike most of the types of places you'll find around Lake George area.

It was a dark, dreary, cold, drizzly night and my friend and I were driving back home to Vermont from Warrensburg, NY. We came over the mountain on route 8 and met not one single car--we were feeling a bit alone in the world, and hungry. Then, like a  well-lit beacon in the night the Firehouse appeared.

The food was good, service attentive, and atmosphere warm. We were so happy to have found this place!

Its overpriced for what it is, but the food is pretty good, the service friendly and accommodating and gives enormous wine pours. Make sure to sit outside on the patio by the stream.

Hague Firehouse is a GREAT spot if you're in the area, I absolutely love it! The food is fantastic, the staff is awesome, and I like the feel of it - there are so many regulars it is totally the spot to be in a very small town and I love that about it.

No reason not to make a trip here and enjoy the outdoor patio that overlooks a small, beautiful stream, or take revelry in all the commotion amongst the regulars at the bar area.

Hague Firehouse Restaurant could hold its own in any city, let alone here in the North Country where the operating months for many restaurants are truncated by the influx and outlflux of seasonal visitors and residents. Our party of four ate pasta e fagioli (delicious), chicken parmigiana (perfectly cooked, tender chicken with a just-crunchy-enough breading to complement the light tomato sauce) and huge mounds of linguini; eggplant parmigiana (likewise). The setting is country perfect (option: sit on the deck over the babbling brook); the restaurant is airy, bright and sparkling clean; service is happy and attentive without being intrusive. We'll definitely be back, probably weekly (got to work our way through the menu, of course).

Okay, let's get to the truth here...

This is one of two restaurants within lots of miles.  It is run by courteous, friendly, energetic people who are genuinely interested in service with a smile without attitude.  That's refreshing alone.

The beer are cold, fresh and delicious.

The stream that runs underneath the deck behind the restaurant is beautiful and sounds great.

We had the corn chowder.  It was flabby and short on flavor.  We also had the pot stickers and they were light, tasty and done perfectly with good flavor.

We had veal marsala, which was too sweet for me.  It detracted from the overall enjoyment and the mashed potatoes were uninspired.

We also had vegetable stir fry.  It was a bit too sweet, but overall enjoyable.

I need to learn to pick my choices better here for the future.

After visiting Fort Ticonderoga on the way back from Montreal to NYC, we were looking for an early dinner. We picked this place on Yelp and it turned cut a real gem. Our server was knowledgable and quick, food was amazing, free wifi a big plus. Will recommend it to anyone visiting lake George area.

I'm sorry but this place is insanely overpriced. The shrimp pasta I ordered was absolutely terrible. It was probably one of the blandest sauces I have ever had in my life. The only thing I could taste in was lemon juice which I think was squeezed in by the barrel fulls. The shrimp were over cooked and tasteless, as well as the pasta noodles. Not a hint of garlic, salt or pepper. Definitely not worth the $23 dollar price tag.

As far as pros go the the waiter we had was really very nice.  Also the appetizers were pretty good.

Who knows, maybe it was an off night. But I really don't feel like making a $80 mistake again.  We will not be back again.

The food and service never let me down. Sit on the back porch in the summer to take in some rays and a great roast beef sandwich. mmmmmmm.

Dining options are few at the northern end of Lake George if you don't want to eat steak and veal every night. After a tiring 5 mile hike up a nearby mountain, my new fiance and I decided on dining here for dinner. In addition to the menu posted on their website, they have an extensive daily specials menu. Off the specials menu we had a pumpkin saffron bisque that had us licking our bowls clean and a tasty steamed clam appetizer. We also split a large pizza.

The restaurant itself is a very clean and open space, and full of locals who realize this is a great place to dine. I'd come back the next time we take a trip to Lake George.
