This restaurant has been a staple on Route 11 since before Interstate 81. Once a popular place with travelers it is now more popular with the locals. Food is for the most part good and servings large and filling. Features a daily lunch special which is a good deal. Â Hales is your typical hometown diner.
Review Source:Ate breakfast April 26, 2013. My eggs were cold, the "hash browns" were from a box of tater-tots, fried apples were of the frozen variety, link sausages were way over-cooked and tough/chewy. The gravy biscuits were absolutely horrible, thin brown gravy that had zero flavor and no meat - we both tried only one bite, that was enough - yuk. The coffee was the best of all by far, maybe a 6 on a 10 scale. Overall the food experience was way below mediocre - and the price was $18 (with tax), which was way too high for this uninspired, very poor quality breakfast. This restaurant need a serious makeover.
