Without a doubt, the best bar in Little Falls, for a variety of reasons. A few years back, the owner put quite a bit of money into renovating this basement sports bar and it sure paid off. A high-def big screen tv, and five well-placed, smaller high-def LCD screens make this bar a great place to watch the game. A nice bar with bits of Little Falls history underneath the lacquer, excellent food (try their wings - and if you're feeling adventurous, ask them for their hottest), and personal service (everyone there knows each other). It can be difficult to get to the bar due to a poorly placed support pillar that makes things crowded in a prime spot.
Review Source:We were traveling through the area on the way to Cooperstown and stopped in Little Falls (where my grandparents used to live). Â I had always been scared to go to the Happen Inn, as it's in the basement and one can't see much of it from the street. Â There aren't a lot of options in Little Falls, so we decided to take a chance and are thrilled that we did.
The staff was really friendly and the other people in the bar didn't stare at us (like some local people do). Â There's a pool table and lots of tv's. Â It's light enough to not be sketchy, but not too bright. Â There was also jukebox music playing, but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talk.
They have lots of beer options and cheap prices. Â The food was also delicious (if cooked on a visible, greasy stove) and inexpensive. Â We had a steak quesadilla that easily weighed five pounds, full of cheese, steak, fresh mushrooms and griled onions, and a thick burger, topped with onion petals, cheese and sauce.
They have daily specials and an interesting bar top. Â If you have to be in Little Falls, this is the place to go.
