It is quite a surprise, each and every morning that I have visited Mt. Wellington, to find that their selection, quality, and most importantly, sense of humor is always present. Â I work just down the street from the market and couldn't be more pleased with all the meals, treats, and pick-me-up-mid-afternoon coffee breaks that I have gotten to spend on a comfy couch or on the front porch of the market.
The owners, most frequently behind the counter, make it a point to know your order and furthermore, make it a point to be involved in their community. Â They have made a home for themselves (convently above the market) and a wonderful destination for any and all for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner!
This place is home. Â I was here on the first day of their 2011 season (as an employee of the Glimmerglass Festival) and within a day, this lovely family (it's run by a young couple and their delightful toddlers) knew my name like we've been friends for years, meal order, and are clearly so interested in getting to know every person that walks in the door. Â The food is fantastic and they're willing to alter their menus and items they stock to your preference. Â I'm a huge fan of breakfast food and it is soo so good, but even more than that, it's their willingness to invite you right into their lives. Â It will brighten your day, guaranteed.
