Harbor Haus Restaurant and Bed & Breakfast

Visited the Harbor Haus several years ago then just recently.  Pretty sure it was the same menu.  Food is mostly tasty but in a time warp....my bet is that the chef went to culinary school in the 80's.  Portions are WAY too large and as stated, the menu needs to be updated.  Super view but tacky server uniforms and the place needs a makeover.

One of the best places to eat not only in U.P but in Michigan, food was great and service was even better.. Would highly suggest this place if in area.

Full disclosure: writing this on behalf of my upset girlfriend.

She said that the view was beautiful, but the food was overly salty and somewhat greasy.  The potatoes au gratin were "too oniony".  But the biggest problem was the duck.  She's not an experienced duck eater, but odds are it wasn't prepared correctly.  They tried to feed the leftovers to some dogs, who wouldn't eat it either.  

Later that night, she became quite ill, with every sign of food poisoning.  They called the manager the next day, who was rude and said it wasn't food poisoning and that she was going to just get sick anyway - therefore not their problem.  A little compassion would have been nice.  Most classy restaurants would have handled the situation better, and my girlfriend was upset that what should have been their nicest meal in the UP turned into a bad experience.
