Sorry to say I think this place is a bit over-rated by my fellow Yelper's. It is indeed easy to miss when you exit the Interstate, looking like a gas station business. As other's here have stated -look for the Connoco sign next to the Super 8.
I ordered the two meat plate of ribs & brisket with potatoe salad and a bag of chips. My only two other choices for sides were pinto beans and cole slaw. I asked the woman behind the counter to cut my brisket from the moist end of the brisket and she replied " it's ALL moist " with a confused look on her face. I then asked if she would cut it from the FATTY end of the brisket and she replied "You just want the fat ?"
When she finally understood, I took my plate to a table and dug in. The brisket had a slightly hard bark, but was very tender and tasty. The ribs were on the tough/chewy side but tasted good. I would give the brisket a 4 and the ribs a 3. The bbq sauce they serve tasted like plain old Kraft that had been "doctored up " with a few spices in an attempt at originality.
The cost of my two meat plate with two sides was over $14.00 and for the lack of  even basic bbq knowledge and limited selection of sides, I give the place an overall rating of a THREE star. I might stop here again - but only if I was passing by and had no other destination BBQ in mind.....doubtful !
Yes yes and another yes. The brisket was not fatty, and tastes like smoked fillet. Prob the best brisket I have had. The beans were excellent and the coleslaw was perfect.  Regular sausage a bit dry that day, but the jalapeño sausage was right on. In the Conoco station, and if you know BBQ across the country, you know the best is usually at the gas station. Plenty of seating.
Review Source:Beware google maps is wrong. The restaurant is on the opposite side of the highway, look for the Conoco gas station sign by the Super 8 Eastland. You walk in and feel like you're in someone's kitchen. Big granite counter with pots of brisket, sausages, etc. You get to sample the food before you buy. We had everything; the ribs plate, the brisket sandwich and the sausage combo, with coleslaw, potato salad and beans, all very good. A different dining experience. Treated like family. Very friendly owners:) Too bad it's a looooong way from LA!
Review Source:Awesome Q! Â Great service, easy location to get in and out of. Fast and yummy! Â All I've gotten is the chopped brisket sandwich....luscious, I always come back for that so I haven't tried anything new . Potatoes salad and coleslaw are equally good, but I prefer coleslaw with BBQ and my husband likes potatoe salad. Nice clean family type atmosphere, cowboy decor and country music round out the experience.
Stop in and try it...you'll be back for more!
