Great food & even better service.
Recently attended a rehearsal dinner here and was amazed at the quality of the food provided and the attention from the servers. Â I wish I could remember our server's name because she was probably one of the best I've ever had. Â I'll be sure to stop back by this place again.
I love this place. I always get the filet, but I need to try their fresh seafood and other things sometime. I like the whiskey bread pudding. The filet, a couple beers and that bread pudding ends up costing $40-something. Very good service - the people are very nice. I go back every time I travel to the Evansville area.
Review Source:The Place- Not SUPER formal, but I wouldn't go in jeans. Â Perfect for date nights and family dinners! Â Ambiance: well lit; leaning more toward diner than fancy restaurant.
The Service- Attentive and friendly.
The Food- Â The meat gets 5 stars, especially considering the price. Â French onion soup was a-ok, prime rib was amazing. Â Dinner buddies were equally happy with their filet mignon and surf and turf. Â Wait actually no, the lobster was reported "meh". Â (It's Indiana!) Â Meat was great though; oysters rockefeller and tournedos medallion were both highly recommended by others who'd dined there. Â Calamari appetizer and mushroom side dish both flavorful and done right. Â Good selection of meats and a wide range of prices (meat entrees alone $16 to $40s)
Not sure why people are comparing this place to steakhouses in LA and NY, (I'm from both) as this is Indiana. Â So for what it is, Haub is a prreetttyy good choice!
