Wow. This is definitely worth the stop.
As we walk up, there is a smoker on the sidewalk doing its thing.
We walk in and there is an entire table of pies, breads and cookies. Â
Once seated, we are told that pulled pork is the special and I inquire about the smoker and am told that is for the kielbasa that is being served with breakfast.
Smoked kielbasa??? And the next thing I see is the #5 getting put down at a table next to me and my decision is made. Â 2 eggs over easy, toast, kielbasa and I ordered a side of their hash browns which were outstanding.
The pies looked delicious and based upon the kielbasa and everything else I saw, I'm guessing a majority of the foods are made from scratch. Â
The snicker doodle and red velvet cookies I had were delicious. Â Pie will be next. Â
A couple of reasons for the minus one star. Â The A/C in the back room was blowing pretty cold and I saw people at another table switch seats. Â
I also can concur with Ashley. Â Not sure if the older server is an owner but they were definitely not happy to be there. Â Thankfully we only had to give her our order and the rest was handled by someone much more pleasant.
I also saw a group of 6 get seated and considering how busy the place was, they were quite accommodating. Â The place is not that large and seats maybe 30 people.
After a week of partying and summer fun, we needed a good breakfast to get us back to the Twin Cities. Â Of course, there are nothing but small towns for a good chunk of time after we left our cabin North Of Crosby. Â However, this was exactly what we were looking for.
We walked into the restaurant full of locals. Â Obviously we knew this wasn't going to be disappointing. Â Even with 8 people, the were able to seat us in the back room immediately and give us exceptionally prompt service. Â Water was waiting for us and coffee came soon after piping hot and amazingly not too cheap (in quality that is).
For only $7 I was able to have two eggs my way, a load of hash browns, a biscuit and gravy and toast. Â Although this was about all I could handle, as delicious as it was, the skillet and Eggs Benedict looked and sounded (according to my companions) amazing as well!
On top of fantastic homemade food and exceptional service, they have a small shop within the restaurant. Â Here they sell house made pies, breads (I sampled the wild rice bread and was not disappointed in the least) and other baked goods as well as aprons and other trinkets.
A perfect stop if you are going through Crosby. Â If I get back up to that area, you best be expecting me!
