Had a lakehouse "staycation" with my family in Wautoma and came across this adorable, charming little restaurant! We ate lunch here on a Saturday and loved it. The restaurant was very busy on the day that we were there but we were seated right away. They have a huge menu with tons of sandwiches, coffee drinks and salads. They also make delicious caramel apples fresh to order with your choice of nuts. They employees were all very friendly. There is a nice gift/antique shop attached to the restaurant as well. If I ever come back to Wautoma I will eat here again!
Review Source:Very nice little cafe. Â Polite and helpful employees. Â
The reason for my 3 star review is because though my wrap had very good flavor it was very liquidiy. Â I got it to go to eat on my drive and it leaked out the bottom on to my blouse. Â I wrapped up the second half for later and set it aside. Â when I got to my destination it had leaked through the wrapper and got all over everything. Â
I will give this place a second chance though as I like to see small buinesses make it and tend to avoid chain places which Wautoma has quite a few of.
Go visit Holly and Russ next time traveling through beautiful Wisconsins mid section. The food is consistantly outstanding freshly prepared and wll presented. Daily specials such as the Dr Suess inspired Green Eggs and Ham was a wonderful egg scramble sitting atop a generous portion ham slice topped with a green tapanade and fresh aspargus. Served with a side of fruit chunks drizzled with sweet yogurt. For that added kick in the shorts order a side of sliced jalapenos. After your dining experience go checkout the back room full of fun antiques and stuff from years gone by.
Review Source:I have been using yelp for years but joined to review Heath Farm Market Deli. Â The food was amazing! Â The Reuben sandwich was the best I have had in years-they make their own corned beef, 'kraut, and use award winning cheese. Â We had wonderful homemade pickles, potato salad, and even homemade ice cream. Â The service was friendly and prompt.
Review Source:Amazing find in Wautoma! Â I stopped as I was passing through the area for work. Â I had a delicious lunch, of asparagus soup and the Don't Go Breaking My Artichoke Heart sandwich. Â WOW! Â Great! Â Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Â I will make sure to stop next time I am here!
Review Source:This place was a favorite when I was a kid. We used to stop for garden things and a peek around whatever sort of shop was there at the time (it changed often over the years). Â Today I stopped in for lunch with my mother and my grandmother. What a treat!
The service could've been better, but they were just woefully understaffed. It was insanely busy, with people waiting to be seated (as all seats were taken), people stopping in to pick up orders, and just 2 waitresses to serve the whole of the small restaurant. They were kind and courteous, but clearly could've used a 3rd or 4th waitress to ease things up.
The 3 of us were sat a 6 top table and, after a short while, in the crazy busy state, were asked if we minded having a party of 2 sat with us. We all thought that was fine. It's an informal little place, and our table was clearly an old dining room table - it felt right.
Food was great. My grandma had the ham salad and seemed to like it well enough, though she grumbled about the "expensive" ($2.00) coffee (which was refilled about 4 times for her without question). My mom had a strawberry salad with candied sunflower seeds and carrots and a homemade dressing. I got a taste and it was yummy! My meal was the baked brie salad - a mixed greens salad with a small wedge of baked brie, lots of candied walnuts, about 1/2 of an apple in slices and balsamic dressing. My only complaint was that the dressing screamed of vinegar rather than being a vinaigrette. Just my taste, however. The salad on the whole was delicious and the brie was just nicely ripe enough to appeal to those who like it stronger or those who like it milder. Â Each lunch was under $7 each. Really nicely priced and reasonably portioned.
Fun place with a funky gift shop (though that was a bit on the pricey side) in a sweet small-town location. Definitely will stop again if I need a pause on the drive to/from Grandma's!
I was in search of morel mushrooms yesterday morning, this being the season during which they are picked here. Â I started in Green Bay, taking back roads, going through every little town possible, stopping at numerous stores which I thought would be candidates for having this delicacy. Â I was repeatedly told no one in their right mind would sell their morels, they were almost impossible to buy, etc. Â I finally arrived in Wautoma. determined to have a cup of espresso at Candle Freak (caddy corner across from Heath Farm). Â During the growing season, Heath Farm has lots of fresh veggies and fruits, so I thought I would stop and ask where one could buy morels. Â Instead of asking this, however, I asked "what do you have in fresh vegetables?" Â I was told, "we are really sorry, all we have are some morels." Â Oh, my, paradise found. Â I bought the last pound.
So, regarding the store. Â Really good vegetables and fruits in season, a picture of the market was featured on the cover of a book about Wisconsin produce some years ago. Â Yes, they have been in business quite a few years. Â Clean, lots of parking, great location, fair prices. Â As to the deli, I can't speak to this as I have never eaten here, but they seem to do a good business. Â They also have a antique store attached to this.
If you love great food food scratch made from all natural ingredients, this is the place for you. Â Unique combinations of sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and desserts. Â Everything is delicious. Â Eclectic decor with old tables and chairs, oilcloth table covers. Â Outdoor farm market selling fresh produce and plants in season. Â Inside next to restaurant is an antique shop and a designer clothing shop for women. Â A joyous find for anyone traveling through Waushara County Wisconsin.
