I stopped into Hef's a few month's ago with my husband for a much needed glass of wine while visiting with family.
They have a minimal sports theme, a handful of flat screen TVs, a very small bar (about 5-8 seater), and multiple booths and tables. The interior features the exposed brick you know and love in Downtown Spruce Pine. It is clean, warm and welcoming.
I ordered a glass of their Cabernet  Sauvignon which hit the spot. My husband had a draft Sam Adams. We munched on an order of their fried pickles. It was a nice break from the craziness that usually comes with big family gatherings.
My only complaint is that I really wanted to sit at the bar and be a little more socially involved in the atmosphere, but there was a family with two kids sitting there taking up most of the seats. Kind of weird to me that they would have brought their kids to sit at a bar and eat dinner, but then again this has been a dry county up until about 3 years ago.
Also there are no darts or pool tables. The place is probably too small for pool tables, but darts would have been a nice touch.
