I like to support local up and coming businesses. Â Kim and Mike did a great job of making us feel welcome. Â The food was fresh/prepared just right, and the atmosphere was good. Â The only negative was they are still working the bugs out of the new place, so service took a little longer....don't let that deter you! Â We'll return!
Review Source:We went here for St Patty's Day on saturday night so the menu was unique. Â It was also awesome! Â The food seemed homemade and the waitress was really attentive considering how crowded it was. Â The owner was nice enough to rearrange furniture for us to have a better table too. Â Overall the experience was great. Â They didn't have any beers on tap though which would have been nice.
Review Source:Very quaint atmosphere. I absolutely loved the decor! Our server was very attentive and friendly. I was surprised to see they offered edemame on their menu! It was served with olive oil and salt as opposed to just sea salt...kind of bizarre, but it worked. I found a number of yummy sounding vegetarian choices here as well as the new Excel beer...which was positively disgusting. Some people should stick to what they're good at -- namely, Ski. Another note: Instead of chips or bread, they offered popcorn. A neat and healthy alternative to the norm. I will definitely be coming here again.
Review Source:I'm so glad that O'Fallon is finally starting to have some unique businesses open up. The ambiance is sort of like an Irish pub meets college town hangout spot. The decor is an eclectic mix of vintage finds, paintings on the walls, and upcycled furniture. Try their grilled cheese or ham and cheese sandwich with garlicky new potatoes!
Review Source:Love this place. I was SO happy the first time I walked over to Hemingway's for wine and tapas after work in October! O'Fallon really does need this kind of place! Mike & Kim, the owners, came over and chatted a little about my order, then brought me a fantastic Malbec  and some of the best tapas I've ever eaten! The atmosphere is both cozy and energetic at once...Mike is an artist and has some cool pieces on the walls that vary in style from pop-art to Vermeer. I've invited friends and family to meet me here, and we always have a great time! A note to people with allergies: Hemingway's will accommodate you. On a night when they featured a stuffed salmon, the chef prepared a gluten-free shrimp scampi for me to take home to my allergic kiddo!
Review Source:I REALLY want this place to be successful. Â It's charming and eclectic, with simple yet tasteful food. Â Since it's new, it's easy to overlook the disorganization (it also helps that the owners are very nice) but they need to get it together to make it and I'm rooting for them. Â The place needs to find one identity - is it a wine bar, if so, add more wine to the menu. Â Is it a cafe? Â If so, change the name. Â Is it a vegetarian place? Â Not really, and carnivores will enjoy the burger. Â I plan to return and hope this place sticks around.
