Yikes! This was not a good choice. I went here with some friends for dinner after seeing how crowded the restaurants nearby were. The menu looked fairly decent. Nothing too special, but not unacceptable. Plus we were starving, so we gave it a try. The staff there was super friendly, which is one of the only reasons why I gave it a 2 star rating instead of one. However the food just wasn't good. My friends got different fried seafood platters and I ordered a pork bbq sandwich. The seafood was all frozen and the pork sandwich didn't taste right. My friends' salads were covered in way too much ranch dressing to the point where they could barely even taste the salad. That night, after our meal, none of were feeling good. I was still feeling a little sick the next day and I'm pretty the toilets in our beach house we stayed at hate us because of our meal.
Review Source:Visiting OBX last week and found Henry's near our resort. Â Stopped in for breakfast and went back for dinner. Â Service was quick and friendly, restaurant seems to be a local stop of many folks and the food is top notch. Â Nothing fancy just good food. Â Omelet specials and Pancakes seem popular and we had a Seafood trio for dinner, Shrimp, Scallops and Crabmeat which was very good. Â Casual and light dining ! Don't miss stopping at Henry's any time of day.
Review Source:My family visits Henry's every now and then. Â It's been there since my brother was born in Kill Devil Hills -- summer 1989. Â It's a no-frills Outer Banks experience for those who want good food and pleasant staff. Â
This not a five star restaurant folks so don't expect a five star experience -- food or service. Â It's "country home island" culture, if you can fathom that. Â Many of the servers have been there forever and you're gonna hear lots of "ya'll" so go with it. Â It's just good, simple food done Outer Banks style. Â
We haven't been there for dinner in years, but we go often for breakfast. Â It's very affordable. Â This past Monday I got the Captain -- 2 Eggs(fried or scrambled) served with Grits or Homefries or Baked Apples, Toast or Biscuits or Hot Cakes... Â I got blueberry hot cakes with home fries and sausage patties. Â Mmmmmm...mouth is watering NOW. Â Served daily 7am to 1pm, those folks stay busy and workin' hard servin' those who come in for some Henry's homecookin'. Â
"Now ya'll enjoy!" Â
...and I don't even say "ya'll" myself, but I hope you enjoy. Â :)
I've had some of my best meals at Henrys! As a local, I have no problem recommending it to folks. The breakfasts are yummy, all the locals eat there so you can listen to all the OBX news! The dinner menu offers a wide variety of thing to choose from for both the land & sea lover. Â You won't find seafood fresher then theirs on the Outer Banks! Â The staff is always very nice & helpful too. Â Plus, Henry's is locally owned, its nice to help out the locals instead of just another big chain place.
Review Source:Henry's is by far one of my favorite places on the beach. Their breakfast is amazing! You can get anything you want and it will be good. When I go for lunch it takes me forever to order because everything's sounds so good! The prime rib sandwich is the best so far. Highly recommend to anyone who visits or is a local. Prices are cheap too!
Review Source:We went here for breakfast yesterday and had a great meal. Â We read the other reviews saying that their strength is breakfast, and we had heard recommendations from some people down here for breakfast at Henry's.
The food was delicious - I got a simple breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon, and biscuits. Â Each part was well prepared and delicious. Â I especially loved the grits and biscuits. Â Other people in my party got corned beef and hash omelets, eggs benedict, fried chicken (it was around lunch time!), and a mexican omelet. Â Everyone was very pleased with their food.
Our service was also top notch - our waitress was very friendly and efficient. Â The prices were also extremely reasonable. Â Breakfast/lunch for 6 people came out to $72 (with tax and tip), and we did NOT leave hungry! Â We're definitely going to go back for breakfast again before we leave at the end of the week.
The food is pretty good, but the TV in the restaraunt is constantly on Fox News.
If there is anything that makes people gag, its Fox.
C'mon Henry, you're smarter than this. Don't alienate half the people in the country. Â Put on something more appealing and be sensitive to your customers - maybe you'll get more.
