  This is now called Fricos and is a Mexican restaurant.  With no one else in the restaurant, except for the 4 people bustling around the kitchen, manpanion and I waited 30 minutes for scrambled eggs with toast and bacon for 2.  At the 30 minute mark, with no food in sight, we hungrily and sadly, decided to leave.  Upon our exit, the waitress told us one plate was ready, which, upon viewing, proved to be eggs over-easy with gravy, not what we'd ordered 30 minutes ago; and why would we want to eat separately?  And what have they been doing for 30 minutes?   The good news is it can only get better.

  We were driving on our way to Mesa Verde and stopped in for lunch. I had the tacos and shared my spouse's chili burger. Both were really tasty, and the kids loved the empanadas for lunch. Beautiful view from the patio, and it was clean and nice. It was a great place to stop - although it had a new name - Fricos.

  Herk's is a cute little spot in the middle of a one-road town. We stopped in on our way to Telluride and were very pleased! A husband and wife team, the wife took our order and the husband made it all to perfection. Try the salsa -- it's true Texas style (chunky with lots of tomatoes). Our party also had the Bison burger, the grilled chicken sandwich, and the French onion soup. All were homemade and hearty. Consider stopping in if you're driving through Rico!

  I really liked the food here! There were several vegan options and I actually had a choice! The people in my party were happy with their food as well. I had the black bean burger, it was great, a little on the spicy side, which I like. Totally recommend this place.
