I don't get why everyone I know likes this place. Yes they do have cheep beer, but its a sad attempt at a bar. I would rather drink in one of my friends garages then this place.

Two pool tables, a jukebox and a dart game in the back room beyond the beer pong table. It also has a TV, a table arcade game, a sofa and some tables with chairs. EFFICIENCY.

The Hideaway is literally hidden underneath an antique store. You just follow the stairs down to the left of the entrance to find yourself in the doorway. The place is actually quite cavernous, which I appreciated.

There is a a bar for our needs right as you come into the doorway. And there's karaoke!

It's like a one-stop shop for downtown Riverside. Likes it.

I've been here a couple of times, and always make sure to bring 5-10 people with me. If you don't want to go somewhere crowded, and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the place to come. Karaoke nights are also a little bit strange. You'll get the strange drunkard that keeps on wanting to sing like he's Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters, but actually sounds really terrible and might pop your ear dreams because the speakers are so loud. Other than that, you might as well go to Applebee's.

Great if you want to get drinks for cheap. Good selection of beer, okay selection on mixed drinks. VERY loud and always packed.

I came with a friend here after 7pm during the week.  The place was slow, we sat at a table towards the back of the bar because the tables were set up real weird for a couple to hang out.  We had two beers each and I don't really remember any music playing lol.  The place looked kinda dirty, like they were under construction maybe but I think it looked like that a few months ago.  The bar was not stocked and there was no drinks menu.

I love it here! It's a divey, laid back place... reminds me of the fun, little dives that I went to in college in Buffalo, NY- my old stomping ground!

This place is fucking terrible. The whole place was packed with ghetto people.

My girlfriend ordered a drink with Vodka and the bartender said that they were out. So she got a margarita instead. (They were making all their drinks on some counter in the back.) She said that the drink for sure tasted like it didn't have alcohol.
I think the bartenders thought we were stupid or drunk, because three of us got drinks that were supposed to have alcohol in them and we could tell that they didn't.

We left after being there for 10 minutes. Fuck this sketchy ghetto place.

Do not go here. Does not have full liquor license. Served me uncooked chicken wings. Shady environment. Go somewhere else.

Very peculiar place, a lot of renovations now so its much better. When they're at capacity there's a waiting room with a beer only bar while you wait. It's an antique store so the room feels old but hey pre party spot nonetheless. Going downstairs sucks for chicks wearing heels, I always wonder how many bad wipe outs they've recorded on the security camera. Very long steep set of stairs going down to a bizarre basement with lots of trinkets & antiques to stare at  and Christmas lights hanging. The dj is awesome always playing the best jams, always making me want to dance the moment I get there. Space can be cramped when its busy, there's a couple chairs and tables along with beer pong tables and another room in  the back with pool tables. Drinks are cheap here I don't know if they serve liquor but they have expanded their beer list. A younger crowd here but one of the more poppin' places.

The Hideaway Bar is really cool and casual place to hang out at on a Thursday or Friday night. They have Happy Hour all day, which includes $2 domestic beers and $2.50 imports. They also have $2 jello shots which are really good. Not sure if it's the same price still. Some times they have a DJ there running the turntables but no one really dances. They have two beer pong tables to play.

Very laid-back bar. They have a room upstairs where you could wait and have a few beers if downstairs gets over capacity - which doesn't take many people.

Great when you just want to hang out with  friends and drink a few beers. I come here mostly those last days before a paycheck when I'm on a budget.

Came here with a group of friends to celebrate a friend's birthday and was pleasantly surprised.

It's downstairs from the antique shop and was more crowded than I would expect (another sports bar on the main street, Lake Alice, was empty when we went there next). It was a fun atmosphere as they had a pool table, beer pong table and live karaoke/live music.

The only reason I didn't give them more stars is the ridiculous price they charge you for soju - one shot at this place is equivalent to me getting two bottles of soju from an asian supermarket...so DON'T order soju here!

I'd come here again, there aren't that many great bars in Riverside otherwise.

This is a nice Lil  place to go . I enjoy going here because its laid back . If its crowded with a bunch of youngsters, I don't stay long . Beers are cheap and the atmosphere is cool . Sometimes it gets full and you have to get on a list to go in . So go a Lil early if you wanna check it out !

First time here, came because we had a groupon but will definitely be back. For a nice crisp salad and tried the new Chicken panino, made with sun dried tomatoes and pesto- it was delicious. Also tried the Turkado- turkey w/ avacado on a perfectly made croissant. Paired with Cold $2 beer- for a perfect meal. I course you have to be in the mood for a sandwich or soup, but you won't be disappointed with this hideaway:)

Discovered this place today totally by accident and I have to tell you, I was VERY impressed. There were six of us in our party and we each ordered something different and tasted each others' food. Good, good, good! It's a funky, laid back place with old school dining room tables that look like they came out of Grandma's house. It all works! There is a bar, too. I will go back soon with some other friends because this is the kind of place that you want to share. AND...it steps away from the most awesome antique/vintage shopping you could ever want!

2 Dollar beers great deal! While others charge 3.50 to 5.50 a bottle. The remodel is going to look awesome by the way and always have good bands to listen too. Great place to go to start the night.. I just wish they had a bartender that could make any drink you want instead of James bond drinks lol!

Long-time Yelp user, first-time reviewer. Where do I begin? Oh yes, the Riverside nightlife (borderline oxymoron). If you can pry your dead eyes away from the two parrots in front of the Mission Inn (they get old after 5 minutes), head on over to the good ol' Hideaway Bar. Descend the well-hidden stairwell and tell yourself it's a VIP entrance. What do you smell? If you answered "the past" you would be correct. This bar is in the belly of an antique store, which initially adds a bit of charm, but after a few drinks the mannequins will begin to frighten you.

The drinks are the main reason I go, which shouldn't surprise you because It's a BAR. $2 Domestic Beers and $3.50 craft? Sign me up. I loves me some STONE IPA, which falls under the $3.50 category (amazing, right?!) For those who like to play games and get drunk, they have a beer pong table set up, adding to the "Basement in the Midwest" atmosphere.

Overall: cool people+ cheap drinks = good times. Heck, all this talk about the Hideaway Bar has got me scratchin' for some IPA...don't wait up for me, Mom!

Living up to its name, The Hideaway Bar was indeed well hidden. And while the place wasn't quite as hipsterish as I thought it would be, it fell well below my expectations.

Entering the bar, only two or three tables were occupied with most of the action being at the bar. We had to seat ourselves and after waiting about five minutes finally went up to ask if we could order our meals. I get that this is a bar, but if you're going to have tables and serve food, at least include a dinner staff to serve your other patrons.

Moving on to the food, I ordered the BBQ sandwich while my accomplice ordered the Reuben. For $7 apiece, the food was good, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio with my dinner, and the taste was watery and boring. To put it simply, a wheat thin has more flavor and complexity than this wine had.

All told, the food was decent and I liked the novelty jello shots, but lousy service and bland wine means I won't be back anytime soon.

I am a fan! Hence the 4 stars.

Beers are either $2 (domestic) or $3.50 (others)?
Wine are about... $5-7 a glass (not sure since my boyfriend buys the drinks ;)
They have mix drinks now! Made with Soju instead of hard liquor. They also have jello and pudding shots (i prefer pudding)

They have BEERPONG! haaha I'm just super amaze to see that game outside of a house party, so it's pretty cool. It is also a great way to branch out of your own group and meet other people at the bar.

They have a tiny dancefloor for those who just wants to get out some energy (me) ha it was fun!

I met a couple of pretty chill girls there and we pretty much had a great time.

I've been twice and plan on becoming a regular at this "dive bar'. It's very low key, so if you're looking to enjoy a glass O'Vino or simply knock back some beers in your most comfy clothes then this is the perfect "Hideaway".

This place is far from pretentious, fun, and laid back. So I love it! If you want to wear jeans, it's OK. If you feel like getting a bit funky, it's OK. If you're looking to impress...that's okay, too. The beer is cheap and the sammies are DELISH.

Please note: the RUBEN IS AMAZING.

Did someone call the food pricey? ...ummm, $6-$7 for a HUGE sandwich, with a side, is NOT pricey unless you're a minimum-wager earner and in that case, maybe you should check out McDonald's dollar menu AFTER drinking your $2 Hideaway domestic...I mean, really, people!

The Hideaway is dive-ish, in downtown Riverside, within an antique shop -  no, it's not all O.C. glam and glittery. So, if you are looking for that kind of place and crowd, this is not the place for you, and unless you're working with less chromosomes than the rest of us, it's not too hard to figure this out BEFORE you spend too much time there.

FYI: I've been here a few times and it's usually a good mix of people and age groups, but we stopped by the night after Christmas and I think during "school breaks" it's busier with more of a local college crowd. This could have been annoying as the night wore on, but we didn't stay long enough to find out.

FYI #2: there was a bummy looking guy hanging around our table and the bartender came over and handled the situation really well! He didn't insult the guy OR make it look like we complained. We didn't complain, but the dude WAS making me nervous so I'm glad the bartender noticed.  ..in other words, the staff is on top of their game!!

This is a neat little place in riverside and it's truly a hideaway bar. Its located across the inn toward the right of Marios place if Your facing from the inn. It's located down in the basement of an antique shop, with a pretty good atmosphere. The people are nice and the bartenders were chill. It's a nice place to grab a beer and catch up however they don't serve hard liquor only soju.

Fun place to hang out with friends. Cheap beer, laid back enviroment, good music and it doesn't take for ever to get a drink. The bartenders and owners are on top of their game and are always very friendly.

OhhhMyGahhhh. I have no idea why it had it taken me such a long time to eat here.

The sandwiches are typical, but taste amazing. And I love sandwiches, so amazing is not an exaggeration. The Roasted Vegi Sandwich and the Avo-Vegi Sandwich are a must try.

I'm sure the bar experience is just as satisfactory, as other reviews state. Can't hate on cheap beers!

And I love the fact it is located in the basement of a antique store. Great idea on the owners part.

This place is wonderful. Karaoke is really great. Eclectic crowd. They have even let me pass out at the bar on multiple occasions. The sandwiches are exceptional. I am in love with the roasted veggie. $2 domestics. It doesn't get much better than that. Also, the staff is probably the nicest around. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a good sandwich or nice night out for some karaoke.

Finally Riverside has a little pub culture. Dark, cool, cheap but good beer, live music (on Tuesday at least) coverning Arlo Guthrie and Jim Croce good enough you can't help but hum along, and decent/light fare. I'm home, Riverside, I'm home. $2.00W for Rolling Rock? Where do I sign up and where have you been all my life?

Added Value: Free, fast Wifi - c'mon!

"...half way home, I'll be there by morning...good morning America, how are you? Don't you know me, I'm your native son".

I came here on a Friday night with a group of friends after a night of good eats at The Salted Pig. Two stars straight off the bat for having $3.50 Stone Ale in the bottle. $3.50! Seriously? Two more stars for the great staff (although I might be biased as they were friends of my friends) and for the great "your eccentric uncle's rumpus room" feeling of the place. It is very unpretentious and low key, I mean it is under a antique mall so it is very kitsch. It has the distinction of being the location of the first time I ever played beer pong (I guess the high school drinking feel did get to me). Regardless, I smoked two other people. Good times.

The Hideaway was poppin' compared to the completely dead atmosphere at the Menagerie.  The name is fitting; the bar is down a set of stairs, past the hilariously dressed/posed mannequin (really, she's even funnier after a few drinks), and around the corner.

It's a beer and wine establishment, $2 bottled beer, $3.50 for the rest, but they also serve jello shots with soju.  Bar food wise, there are greasy appetizers and sandwiches on the menu.  Though noisy, the place is very laid back and attracts a variety of clientele.  It's more on the dive-y side, but it's certainly a gem in the rough.

This is one of my favorite bars in Downtown Riverside, and one of the only ones that doesn't charge a cover fee on weekends. Most of the drinks range in price from $2-3:50, and they do require a $10 minimum purchase for credit cards. The food here is actually very good...it's nothing too fancy, but definitely good if you're having a few drinks. The crowds here are usually pretty laid back and the layout of the place makes it very easy to talk to other groups of people. My one complaint is that because it is in a basement it tends to get a little warm in there sometimes. They do have a lot of fans throughout the place, but it just isn't enough when they get busy.  I usually try to sit by one of the couches right next to the fan so that I don't have to worry about it. All in all, it's a great place to relax and have a few drinks with friends without breaking the bank.

The Hideaway is literally a hole. This "bar" is in the basement of an antique store, so you can imagine how it smells. However, being in an antique store you might think the atmosphere would be interesting in someway. It not. It feels like you are at a house party in basement sitting on grandma's stinky dusty furniture. The music played is a hodgepodge of every thing be played on the radio in the last ten years. They only sell beer and wine and there is a ten dollar minimum. We left wondering why this place was even there. Beware we did see a homeless person dancing and bumming drinks.

This place just wasn't my style, but there was nothing wrong with it. It was kind of a hipster meet dive bar. They played live music and only sold beer and wine. It's in the basement of the antique store (across the courtyard from coffee bean and not where googlemaps says that it is). They had an all day happy hour- drinks were cheap, but the happy hour food was not.... $7 for 8 jalapeno poppers? The mannequins were a little creepy, though.

We stopped by after work to check this place out. It is kinda confusing. You walk down and there are two parts to the place. One side is a walk-up counter with the menu on the wall, which I guess is the Galleria Cafe, and next to it is the bar area which is called the Hideaway. So we wanted beer and food and we were confused on if we order the food at the counter and then go to the bar - no signage and noone to direct us.

We asked the bartender and he said he could take care of us. They don't really have a menu on the bar side - just a list of the sandwiches- so if you wanted a description of what was on it, you needed to walk over to the cafe and read the menu there.I know they are just getting started, so maybe they are fixing this. They also did not have a beer list, so you had to walk up to the bar and look at everything. Great prices on beer - no kegs though - all bottles, but a good variety.  I also think, that the sandwiches were more expensive on the bar side, $6.50 versus $7.95. I don't understand the different pricing, it looked like the service was the same, that they bring it out to you. I don't see why you couldn't order your sandwich on the cheaper side and bring it in - we didn't discover this until we left.

The food: I ordered the french dip, which was very good. The meat and bread were nice and tender. The Au Jus is better then a run of the mill cafe. My husband had a Meatloaf sandwich which he liked as well, he said it was nice and moist. The sides were just there - they offered fresh fruit, coleslaw or potato salad. The coleslaw was nothing special. I noticed the menu online offered chips or a side salad and we were not offered these. The sandwiches with these types of boring sides are worth $6.50 - I think $7.95 is too expensive.

All in all, we did like the place and we hope they can iron out some of the issues. Everyone was friendly and nice and the atmosphere kick back.

After walking around Downtown Riverside on a cold sunday we walked by the Mission Galleria & found that they had recently opened a beer & wine bar in the same building.

Outside was a sign stating it was open Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday for the NFL games. My friends & I wanted cheap beer & my boyfriend wanted to watch Football. 2 birds, 1 stone. yes.

Very cool look inside with fake trees, murals on the walls & a small bar area . Best part... $2 domestics, $3.50 for imports ... it was awesome.

Its hidden away, cheap & chill... so yeah, I'll definitely be back here again :)
