Love this place! Great for cheap drinks and to watch the game. We usually go during basketball season but they do get all the football games as well. I talked to the bartender and they are going to start showing UFC fights pretty soon too. I don't know if there's going to be a cover charge since they haven't showed any fights yet. The food is pretty good. It's mostly stuff like chicken wings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, edamame, and your typical bar snacks. I would recommend eating before you go if you want a meal. The prices for everything is reasonable too! We ordered three beers and two appetizers and it was only $25 which isn't bad since some places on the island charge you $10 just for one beer. The crowd is pretty cool too. We haven't went on weekends but everyone seems really nice in there. The service is excellent too. The bartenders are always making sure that we have something to drink and they are really friendly. This is my favorite place to hang out near the Ewa Beach area and I highly recommend it if your military or know someone that is.
Review Source:You can be drunk and play volleyball! Perfect place to grab a pitcher after a day of surfing. Not a good place if you are looking for women but if you're a woman...I guess there are a lot of military men to pick from. Ether way, they are the only place that serves Samoan beer in Hawaii!
Review Source:Great for parties! Â Company BBQs or Birthday Parties. Â It's very kid friendly as well. Â Limited drink options and plastic cup style. Â I suggest bringing your own food, their menu is all microwave or deep fryer so very limited.
Has volleyball net/sand pit. Â They accept bounce houses and very accommodating. Â It is located on a military base so military ID or sponsorship will be required. Â Other than that little hang up it's not that bad of a bar for the island.
Much better for groups than for by yourself.
Yep another five stars for this joint. My roommate sponsored me in (it's on the USCG base) - he's retired from the USMC, I was in for four years so don't have a card to get on base.
Anyway, Friday night the DJ started off slowly while people slowly filed in. Once there were enough hot chicks to get the dance floor going, he turned it up and the place was jumpin.
Prices for their drinks and dive-bar style munchies were out of this world awesome. I would have spent three times as much by the end of the night somewhere else. The bartenders and barbacks were all super friendly and fun. The atmosphere reminded us of some comfy dive bar out on a tiny Pacific island somewhere . . . hmm I wonder why!
Can't. Wait. To. Go. Back! This time for a Saturday to see a band and, I hope, close the place down! :^)
We went here yesterday to watch the football games, I LOVE THIS PLACE...1st time here and it was laid back, very friendly, and showed all the games...they open around 6:30 but they don't serve until 7:00, which is fine anyway the games don't start till 7 anyway...they have a tradition there on Sundays EVERYONE brings a dish, we didn't know this as this was our first time there but there was SO MUCH FOOD THERE for free other then you having to bring a dish as well..great concept! This place has it going on!! I love it!?
Review Source:Wow! Â This place is less than five miles and I never even knew it. Â We went last Saturday, just before sunset, and while there were people, it wasn't crowded. Â After a couple of hours, it started to get busier, but by that time it was time to call it a night. Â The bartender, Janie, was spot on. Â As busy as she was, she never broke a sweat and she was polite as could be to anyone and everyone. Â So many beers, and they do change them out periodically. Â Nice full bar. Â I was glad to see they had Corralejo tequila. Â That's not something I was expecting, but was pleasantly surprised to find.
I love the decor! Â I don't know any other way to describe it, other than military Americana. Â All this place is missing is some pin-up girl memorabilia, but that's just my taste.
There is an outdoor seating area, sand volleyball, basketball courts, darts, and pool. Â What? No pin ball, or did I miss that? Â
We ordered fried jalapeño poppers to get us through a couple of hours, and while the food isn't high end, it's good.  Besides, why would you want high end in a place like this?
I look forward to frequenting this place. Â Nice atmosphere and people!
I absolutely love this bar! They have cheap strong drinks (this is the only place in hawaii that I know of that they give me a full glass of SoCo for under 5 bucks). The bartenders and bouncers are super nice. And the people who hang out there are usually pretty chill.
The reason this is my favorite bar is because I can go play sports while drinking. Â You can borrow basketballs and volleyballs from the bar (they will hang onto your id while you play). There's a full basket ball court and a full sand volleyball court and usually the people who play aren't that great so you won't be intimidated and you'll have fun playing.
My favorite part about this bar is the swing though. They have a two person swing there that is located right by the volleyball court so you can hang out and watch the people playing volleyball and basketball.
Not only can you play sports here while drinking you can also dance. The dj's are usually good about playing a mix of rock, country, classic rock and hip hop.
Some more great stuff about the bar is that they offer great drunk food, you can buy ciagrette's from the bar, plenty of space to sit down and chill and it's cheap.
The only down side is that is is on a military base and if you are civilian you have to be signed in. And that it's hard to find. But other than that I love this bar!
this has to be my all time favorite bar in hawaii
why?
-first off, it's a bar. the bartenders can mix! it's cheap and it's strong! just how i like it
-the bar's theme is very old school and retro. they have an old helicopter cockpit and tons of military memorabilia mounted on their walls.
-it's next to the beach, ambience is very relaxing
-big screen HDTV
-bar seating, couches, patio seating, bench seating, you name it. lot's of spots to chill
-kitchen got awesome munchies for cheap! from waffle cut fries and chicken strips, to tempura mushrooms and edamame for $3-$5 average
-they have a basketball court and sand volleyball court. in a bar!? sweet!
-it's military = moke free!
-clean bathrooms for a bar
-live musical performances on weekends
-every now and then they have specials and games, example: karaoke night, volleyball competition (team) etc.
-tons of parking
-pool tables
-close to home, the only GOOD bar this side of the island
bottom line: great times that don't cost you everything in your wallet. i have nothing negative to say about this place except that they should stay open later on weekdays.
i'm glad this place is still here and unchanged.
Cheap strong drinks, good music and a decent crowd. They have beach volleyball, too. Military crowd, seeing as its on a military base, but they have lots of ladies here that are civilians.
Friday nights they have a DJ, and Saturday is usually a band. Good place to go for a relaxing night out with friends.
I love this place too. Totally unpretentious, cheap drinks, bar food and cool people. I've been twice on Saturday nights and both times had great bands. Friday night is apparentaly hip hop deejay so i'll be sure to miss that. Otherwise, an amazing place to relaxe. They also sometimes host roller derby, which is a great time as well.
Review Source:My husband and I are dye hard football watchers. We came across the Hideaway and we really enjoyed ourselves for the first preseason games. The people where very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. The bartender said on live band and dj nights it gets a little crazy about 200 people, that place is not quit big enough for 100 people unless they are all outside. But it sounds like a good time.
Review Source:Unfortunately I am always at this place for meetings and not 100% fun since I don't really have access any other way. Â If you live near Barbers Point and can get on base this place is probably already your Cheers or it should be. Â Huge beer selection at great prices, tennis and volleyball courts, live music, tons of wide open space.....this place is a hidden gem for those who can actually get to it.
Review Source:The name is perfect b/c it literally is hidden away from the rest of the world. Â Especially, driving there @ night. Â It's a fun place to hang out, given it's open air structure. Â Inside there's 1 pool table and outside there's a vball & bb courts. Â Tons of people were actually bbq'ing in the bb court area. Â The DJ played mostly hip hop but every now & then some rock. Â I also liked that it was completely relaxed. Â People wore jeans and shorts w/flip flops.
Review Source:I wish this was easier accessible for non military  (Need military ID to get on base).  Great place, cheap beers, very open air tropical feel to it.  It's what I imagine the guys from McHales Navy (old tv show) would be running when they got out of the navy and stayed in the south pacific.
Review Source:Great bar. Its got a bit of a hole in the wall feel. Good staff, some of the cheepest drinks on the island. Â Friday nights there is a dj and saturdays a live band. Â Saturday aug 7 the girls roller derby will be there. Â I can't hardly wait, it should be a great time. Â There is a volleyball court, horseshoes, basketball, pool table and darts. Â It is open to military and sponsered guest. Â Give this place a try you won't be sorry.
Review Source:Like this bar... great little place... You need to be affilitated with the military to get in (i.e. cac card) but it's a great little find. Â There's a cockpit in the place and they have a 100 beer club, volleyball courts, pool tables and such. Â Very good selection of beer. Â I just wish they didnt get rid of the spaten on tap...
Review Source:Wow what a great find. Â Being out in Kapolei I've always been a little irritated with the lack of a nice bar just to hang out at have a good beer and just relax. Â I really lucked onto this one because one of our neighbors who is in the Coast Guard had heard it had a great selection of beer and was a pretty fun spot.
This place went beyond my expectations, good selection of beer and cool design with the rescue chopper behind the bar. Â The fun thing is there are basketball courts and a volleyball net right outside, nothing beats drunken sports. Â We got there are 3 and didnt leave till 11.
Like the previous review said might be a little hard to get access to since it is on the base, but if you are lucky enough to get in its worthwhile to check out
On a side note the day was even better because we happened upon a roller derby match. Â It was pretty fun watching it, seemed pretty competitive, I'm a fan of that now too!
