Surprisingly busy for a Tuesday evening, although always a welcome site to see a parking lot NOT empty when pulling into a new place.
Have been meaning to check this place out for a while and after reading a few reviews here thought it was about time. Â Very nice atmosphere, almost a Cracker Barrel feel without the store to navigate through to be seated. Â
Very simple menu but plenty of variety. Â Be sure to check out the specials board. Â Prices were very reasonable and service was attentive. If other servers walked past your table they were sure to refill drinks and remove any finished dishes.
Not too shabby! We order drinks (very cheap, $5 for top shelf liquor, beers equally as inexpensive) and a plate of wings. The wings were great. Hot, meaty and freshly made! It seemed like a nice, local, family type place. The waitress was nice and came with our food quickly. Not too shabby!
Review Source:We were to meet friends halfway between Kitty Hawk and Raleigh, and that landed us in Williamston. Â I have to say we were very pleased to have discovered the Hitch'n Post!
The lunch buffet was more than adequate and was stocked with some of the best fried chicken and yam casserole that I've ever had. Â And those green beans ... incredible. Â Perfectly seasoned and had a wonderful smoky bacon flavor. Â And the chicken and dumplings ... mouthwatering! Â Make sure you try it all!
Next time we are headed east I will definitely be making a stop here again. Â We were very pleased!
