Lulu's does a really great breakfast!  I have been dining there for many years and it's always enjoyable... I have yet to try the "Fried Chicken with All the Fixin's" to go, but the thought has crossed my mind more than once.

The bar, while tending to mostly the local crowd, does offer cocktails and a full menu.  I would primarily recommend the Home Port for breakfasts (prepare to wait on Sunday).  Your out of town friends will be charmed with the Key Peninsula no-frills style, down-home dishes, my favorite being biscuits and country sausage gravy.

The wait staff and service are always extremely personable and friendly.  This has never changed over the years.  How many places can you say that about?

Good home cooking. No skimp on ham and cheese omelette. Bacon not over-done. Local and friendly atmosphere.

We stopped here for breakfast after going fishing this morning.  There was only one waitress, but it wasn't too busy so the service wasn't too bad.  But the breakfast was GREAT.  I ordered the Homeport Omelet, I was only able to eat about a third of it.  It was loaded with hash browns, ham, cheese and just the right amount of onions and peppers.  I will definitely go back there again.

After reading the great reviews, we finally had a chance to visit this place for lunch and were served by the owner, Lulu, herself. What a delicious *homemade* Fish Sandwich and fries plate I enjoyed.  My husband said that his Veggie Burger was the best he's eaten anywhere ... quite a compliment, I assure you.  Great food, great folks, great local hang-out.  We enjoyed meeting Lulu and look forward to the next time we want to eat lunch and pie in town!

If you're looking for off the beaten path hometown hospitality in the state of Washington look no further than Home Port Restaurant & Lounge off the Key Peninsula Highway in between Lake Bay and Gig Harbor/Fox Island.  On the outside it looks like country establishment in the middle of no where but once you walk in you feel like you're transformed into the past with the old school mentality of great service and good home cooked meals.  Besides there better than average pies as grandma would make them, the Chicken Fried Steak was the largest most satisfying I've ever had.  The Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs w/Hash was almost 2 to 3lbs and is not for the faint of heart.  The chef told me on average it takes somebody 45 minute to an hour to finish the Chicken Fried Streak and Eggs if finished at all and that instantly reminded me of Man Vs. Food.  I'm proud to announce it took me only 15 minutes and though I had to pay for the meal I got a free pie!

Lulu's Homeport is a simple place with good food. The pot roast was really good as was the pie. The staff was nice and full of character.  It was a welcome spot on our trip.

Breakfasts are greasy; even the hashbrowns are bad.

Virtually no vegetarian or healthy food - terrible salads.

    I won't eat there.
