We were told this was the most beautiful historic hotel in nac. Entering the hotel lobby it was beautiful and the pricing seemed amazing. We were given our room key and sent in a rickety elevator to a narrow hallway. We found our room to be a good size but had an odd smell. The bathroom was extremely small and uncomfortable. After having been there 5 minutes without so much as a knock a house keeper walks in. she realized we were there and immediately left. 5 minutes later a different house keeper again without knocking walks in and when she realized we were there she apologized but continues into our room anyway. after all of this and realizing the wifi did hot work we were annoyed but were able to shrug all of this off.we decided to explore the city and as we go to leave our room we realize the door is broken and won't lock. in a nearly empty hotel what are the chances of us getting the one busted room. We went to the office and informed them we were checimg out. They offered us a different room and even offered to book another hotel for us. We decided to go find somewhere in our own. The story didn't end there. We were informed we would have a refund in a few days not realizing they had charged an extra 65 to our card invade of damages to the room. We were then out 170 that was supposed to go to our vacation. I am sadly disappointed that we did not recurve any money back until a week after the trip and not so much as a call from a manager to appologize. I hope this is not everybody experience but after talking with other nac natives I was told it isn't uncommon.

I went here to the bar area the day after thanksgiving. I got charged 3 times on my card that night. Called 5 days later and spoke to Seth and it was supposed to be taken care of and my money would be refunded. I waited a week and nothing was done. Then spoke to a woman about my charge and she said she would call me back with more info but never did. 3 days later I called and spoke to Brady who was also supposed to call me back with more information and I never heard back from him. Then Kelly calls me today and notifies me that they are holding my money because they need to charge somebody else for the extra tab I got charged for. 3 weeks later I still have yet to receive a refund that has left me out $100 because they need to charge someone for the extra tab that apparently I am responsible for. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a professional establishment!!!!

Hotel rooms need a remodel, however, its the only place in town with a bar and restaurant on location.
Great spot for business meetings etc.

This is the best place in Nac to simply hang out during the weekend or have a super nice dinner. Hotel Fredonia is the only place in Nac where I can go dressed up and not feel out of place about it. It is such an old hotel but they keep it very well. Their coffee bar is amazing, offering a great variety of coffee-based drinks and pastries. They have a piano in the lobby and a great restaurant that offers buffets every once in a while. The patio is gorgeous at nice, right next to the pool, especially when they have live music (during the weekends). The Nac Trio, a jazz band, is my favorite band, they play there regularly. Nine Flags, their bar, is also pretty good, offering a good variety of drinks. A must for a nice evening!

Wonderful place, very accommodating staff, really fun old hotel experience with true character!

    J. McKinney's is amazing...actually the head chef, James is amazing! He is so helpful in creating menus for large groups, very responsive AND last but not least makes divine food! Everything we ate was exceptional! Thanks James!

I have been pretty happy with the hotel. The beds are comfy, the restaurant and bar are both pretty nice and all the staff have been excellent.
I can't speak to the price since my company is footing the bill but what the other reviews are saying sounds like a good price for the quality.

They spoiled me with their Southern Hospitality :) Their service was impeccable. All the staff were very helpful and accommodating. When I called down for towels, they came within 5 minutes. Maid service is also great. They cleaned the room every day that I was there. Also, bottled water was FREE! How awesome is that!?!! Usually hotels charge $2 for a water bottle, but not at Hotel Fredonia. They definitely helped ease/prevent a hangover.

We stayed for a total of four nights and five days at $95 dollars a night. The total bill came to $429. Rooms were saved for us at the $95 dollar rate due to a block of rooms that were reserved for people attending the wedding in the area. Usually, (because I'm an eavesdropper) rooms go for $119. Kinda pricey. The hotel is in the middle of Nacogdoches downtown, but their down town is nothing special. Coming from CA, it definitely wasn't an exciting area. The only thing that was slightly exciting was 9 Flags Bar located in the lobby of the hotel. It's funny because the hotel tries really hard to be fancy, but then you go to 9 flags and the patrons are very dressed down. Think college town kinda bar. Not upscale at all. For the price, you'd think so but totally wasn't. I don't blame 9 flags, Nac in general was laid back about dress code. Also, last call was at 11:30?!?! WTH! Someone explained to me that I was in bible country and every one stops serving alcohol at midnight. On Fridays and Saturdays they stop serving alcohol at 1am. Seriously, why???

I know that this place has been remodeled, but for the price we paid I felt that it could have done more. There is no fridge in the room, definitely first hotel I stayed in in a long time that didn't have a flat screen TV, and the toilet definitely was not replaced. The toilet looked like it was meant for a public bathroom with a long metal lever that I usually step on to flush the toilet as opposed to using a finger.

Despite the flaws, Hotel Fredonia's hospitality rings through. They even sent me a thank you card after my visit. How many hotels do that??

An oasis in Nacogdoches. I was beginning to think there was no place to go and have a civilized drink in this town. Go to the Nine Flags Cafe downstairs and listen to some live music and eat the best burger and fries in town. You don't feel overdressed in a polo and pants without holes in them. They have great specials during the week that any college kid can get down with and they serve you better than anywhere else in town.

I travel quite a bit, and this is the biggest rip-off I have experienced.  We stayed in the outer part. Our room was $90+ dollars and looked like a crack motel.  I recommend the Days Inn when staying in Nacogdoches.  For $60 you will get a much better deal.

    Classy joint.

I surprised the XY with a night here after he had to trek all over town in a scavenger hunt ;)

The front desk was run by people my age, which is sometimes good, sometimes bad- in this case it was good.  They were helpful and were all very excited about being clues in the hunt :)

Our room was quaint and you could tell the hotel is an older building, but they have clearly done some remodeling/updates that have worked in their favor (I love a pedestal sink!).

The bartenders (his third clue) were also very willing to help me, and made a really yummy white russian for him.  The bar itself is surprisingly hip and upscale for a town like Nac :P

Our breakfast in bed arrived an hour late due to a miscommunication between the night staff to the day staff, but the food was yummy and the staff was again, cheery and helpful.

Overall, the hotel has a very 60's feel.  They had a jazz band playing at night near the very art deco pool deck and their new signage is very retro.

I love the vibe, but -bottomline- it was a tad overpriced. If you're in Nac and need a "nice" hotel, this is the one, but be ready to open your wallet :) I think after the drink, breakfast, and the room (and an assload of taxes) I dropped $150 for the one night stay.
