Went back to the Hub with family and they now accept credit/debit cards. Food and service were good. Sit-down Diner type atmosphere with two seating areas.

The HUB offers cheap lunch specials in a diner environment in the small town of Rocky Mount.

The food is decent and the portions are plentiful.

I dined in for lunch and had their special that were written up on a board.

Simple and classic diner fare that provides a great selection to choose from.  The tenderloin smothered in gravy is juicy and the simplicity of the side dishes great accompanies the meal in every way.

Not something to die over, but satisfying if you're ever in the area.

On vacation here during the week of the 4th, me and my best friend managed to stop in here 3 separate times, once each for breakfast/lunch/dinner.

The menu is simple cafe fare, yet they serve breakfast all day long as an option (plus in my book for late sleepers).  Their salads are quite ample, their burgers are amazing, and the breakfast options are filling, and all at a great price too!

For breakfast, I had the sausage gravy/biscuits with eggs/grits, $4 and some change.  Two HUGE biscuits flayed out on the plate smothered with the best gravy I've had in a long time, 2 eggs scrambled to perfection smothered in cheese, and a decent size bowl of grits with just as much cheese/butter as the eggs.  I almost couldn't finish it all.

Lunch:  Had the "Hub Burger" which is served on a ciabatta roll and is roughly a 1/2lb or a bit over.  Lettuce/pickle/tomato/onion with mayo and a HUGE side of fries.  Really tasty and only a few bucks!

Dinner:  We had dinner on one of the hottest days of the week, so I opted for a light meal, the grilled chicken chef salad which completely covered the plate.  Fresh local greens, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers.  Something you don't find in ATL...

I can see how the name came about, because it's the hub of the community.  Everyone that stops in there knows everyone, and the people who work there are always happy and friendly.  They do not take credit cards, but they have a freestanding ATM there in the corner.  Definitely a little gem if you're up in the area that you must check out!!!
