A nice local bar spot that has been around forever. Â Just a really cozy atmosphere. Â I remember this being the spot to go for all the little league coaches and parents after games at Eisner Park. Â The owners would always have candy ready for all the kiddies while we messed around at the park after games. Â
I do really like the place, but just pretty standard. Â Darts, a small wood bar, creeky old wood floors. Â Typical pub grub and not much of a beer selection. Â A few small pizzas and fried stuff. Â That is not a complaint at all, just what it is. Â Service is always fun, courteous and friendly. Â A good neighborhood bar that I usually visit a few times when I come back to see my family.
Saw this on internet as Champaign's best bar, which, after being there, is very surprising. Â
Food is fine and typical. Â Beer is reasonably priced and typical. Â Service was good. Â Lots of small TVs, tuned to Cubs/Cards game. Â We walked in as first timers and didn't feel like everyone was gawking at the new people, but we also felt like the only two under 50 (or 60).
Plenty of parking & seating which we didn't know until we found a spot crammed in between many others... there is another room full of seating.
Everything about this place is "fine". Â Nothing will stand out as unusual or great, but we would definitely go back if in the neighborhood again.
