I'll give this bar one of my rare 'fives.' Great selection of menu choices and all I've had were quite good. There are salads offered and one can eat 'healthy' if that's important or go all the way over to the dark side with some serious fried fare. A good burger goes a long way with me and they can deliver that here. What pushes me to a 5 though is the ambiance of this place. Friendly crowd and staff. It has kind of a sports bar/neighborhood tavern combination thing going on. The owners, Jeff and Julie, are in most of the time. You can tell they care about your experience in their establishment. Good beer selection along with a full bar. Drinks aren't skimpy. This is my favorite 'happy hour' bar in the area.
Review Source:This is truly a sports bar!!!! Yeah....
What a truly delightful treat to find out in the middle of just about nowhere. Full Bar, extensive pub menu, great prices, sits right on the creek with a smart little covered patio and outdoor heaters that allow to fish right from the deck while you eat and enjoy your visit with new and old friends... cause trust me if you go to Hunters Creek you will meet new friends.
Pool table, Oregon Keno. Oregon Lottery. One arm bandits, Black Jack table.
No matter where you sit in the establishment (unless you are in the room with the one arm bandits) you will have full view 7 count em 7 42 inch TV screens. We love sitting at the bar... that is where you have 5 of the TVs right in front of you... I can watch football and horse races at the same time.
Food is very good... Burgers, Mexican food, Wings, and variety of foods to choose from. Burgers are really good and they are one of the few places in Oregon that will cook you a burger the way you like... I mean if you want med rare you'll get medium rare.. Oregon has a thing about cooking everything well done. It was a law several years ago and now they have lightened up on the law....
Hunter Creek is off the beaten path. It is about 25miles north of Brookings up 101 and just about 5 mins shy of Gold Beach. You'll see the sign from Hwy 101 warning you about Hunter Creek Road... if you are driving north turn right and then make a quick right and follow the creek about 1/2 mile and on the right your see the Tavern... Don't blink... cause if you do you'll miss it... from the outside you'll say...
"Whats this... where the heck did Robin send me"... after your walk in you'll understand...
One very important tip and please don't forget this... This is mostly a local hangout so remember you are in someones elses hangout.. you have to make the first move to be friendly and open and everything else will fall in to place. The owners are Jeff, Julie and their daughter Jessica.... Trust me you will love this place... I've been going there for years each time I visit Oregon.. I am ashamed I didn't review them sooner... My bad!
