I've been a few times now and I can confirm that I did NOT catch them on a good day the first time.  All days have been good days with this place.

I have eaten BBQ in Arkansas, Missouri (St Louis style and Kansas City style) as well as in southeastern Oklahoma.  I haven't found a place in Utah that came very close to the food from the south, until this place.  Yes it's a small place......welcome to authentic bbq.  This is NOT a chain restaurant that has seating for hundreds of people like Famous Daves or Goodwood would have.  And thank heavens for that because their food puts Goodwood to humiliating shame and it doesn't dominate Famous Daves but it IS noticeably better.

Your condiment and "butter" for the white bread is the bbq sauce and meat remnants.  The bread is there to clean your plate not to be a stand alone side like the broccoli slaw or bbq beans with a dabble of honey butter or some fruit jelly.  Again, welcome to bbq world.

It's frustrating to see people come here expecting it to be like a fast food joint or never having had real bbq so they think it's too eccentric or what-not.  Places like this are few and far between in this part of the country and they deserve our support for doing things the right way.  If BBQ just isn't your thing, don't knock them for that because that's not their fault.  I don't like onions so I stay out of the onion patch.  If you DO like BBQ, come check this place out.  Expect good quality from them and if you don't get it, then review them accordingly.

My ONLY complaint is that they reduce the portion sizes of their family meal deals based on how many are in your party.  In my opinion, the quantity should stay the same because the price does.  I went with 4 people one time and we got 4 ribs.  The next time I went in a party of 3 and we got 3 ribs and smaller pork servings.  We should have had to pay less if they are going to do that.

Ate here once and it was amazing. The last 3 times I've tried to go back they have been closed. I know everyone in Ogden valley has those laid back European hours of operation but hot damn! Us city folk want some BBQ at a reasonable hour. Food is 4 stars. Hours of operation is 1.

These guys have figured it out.  How to bring big-town taste to small-town bbq.  The smoke rings in the brisket were so perfect that I would swear they were painted on.  The spicy sausage was as promised and the sides were, even though different than ordered, a-okay.

The sauce bar seems to have improved with age as well.  The mustard base is different and welcomed.  Great accent to your smokey goodness.

Finally, real Texas BBQ food outside of Texas.  Cozy little family restaurant at a great price.  Loved the smokey and spicy BBQ sauces.

We have wanted to check this place out for months, and when finally made it up the BBQ did not live up to the Yelp hype. When we walked in it was like the record player scratch as all the customers gave us the hairy eyeball. We ordered the one meat and the small meat, both with brisket. The brisket was dry and was for sure hanging out in the warmer for a day or so. The serve your self BBQ sauce buffet was fun and tasty, and we enjoyed sitting in the old chair lifts. The crazy thing is that they do not serve beer at this BBQ place...$28 for two without beers felt high for the quality and presentation. The staff was friendly, but can't say that we will be back.

The best BBQ in Utah!  And honestly, comparable to the best places in Texas.  Everything is great here.  The ribs are tender, but not over cooked to the point they fall off the bone.  The brisket, oh goodness, the brisket.  Words escape me it's so good.  Look, I'm not going to BS you, everything they serve is awesome.  Just, please do yourself a favor and go there.  The staff and owner is really nice and inviting, too.  Just please trust me for once in your life and eat at this place.  Their BBQ is second to none.

Best briskett I have ever had!  The pulled pork, loaded mash potatoes, and baked beans are also.  For a nice treat try the banana pudding.  Beautiful views driving to Huntsville.  Like to sit outside in the summer.  We take friends and family here for a nice BBQ meal.

The first word that comes to mind about this place when I think about it is "quaint".  It's located up in the mountains East of Logan.  The best thing about eating there?  The drive.  You have to take Hwy 39 out of Logan to get there, and it's a scenic, curvy road through a canyon, by a lake and ending in the little town of Huntsville.  The establishment itself is in an older, remodeled building on one of the side streets off Main street.  Not a lot of interior tables and during normal eating hours I imagine it could get somewhat crowded.

The food was good.  I am not a BBQ gourmand, but the meat was well smoked and tasted about as good as anything else I have had.  I had a 2 meat combo with ribs and "spicy" sausage.  The sausage was good, but not that spicy, and I'm not sure if it was smoked all that much.  The ribs were really good as was the broccoli slaw.  The beans tasted like regular beans in a can doctored up with some bell peppers - not bad but not special.  The 2 meat combo cost  about $13 and for that I received three ribs and a sausage, a small cup of beans, a small cup of slaw, a slice of white bread (no butter or other condiment) and a pickle.  I didn't walk away hungry, but for the money spent I felt that it could have been better/more.

I will probably visit again - there are few BBQ places around here, but next time I'll take the bike.

Best BBQ I've had in a while. A pleasent surprise in such a remote(ish) setting. Meat was tender and well-seasoned. Beans had a good, chili flavor going on. Mash taters were good and a TV to watch while you ate good food. Best part- a BBQ sauce bar to sample and find whatever flavor suits you was fantastic.

OK BBQ in a mountain setting.  The food is just OK, not something I would travel to far to get but ok if you are in the area and wanting BBQ.  They do have a BBQ sauce bar which is an added bonus.

If you are over 21 and seeking a good meal I would favor the burger at the Shooting Star Saloon around the corner.

Criss crossing the country in search of the perfect barbecue, I have sampled "Q" from New York to Fort Worth, Memphis to Beverly Hills, and countless points in between.  My search always brings me home to the best barbecue in the country at the Huntsville Barbecue Company.  It is conveniently located between the resorts of Snowbasin and Powder Mountain and is ideal for an after ski meal.

Tip: Order Ala Carte and enjoy family style. The brisket melts in your mouth and the ribs are fabulous while the sides such as Broccoli Slaw and Loaded Mashed Potatoes are irresistible.   By all means, try the Peach Cobbler Ala Mode and treat yourself to desert first.

I am from Texas, and this BBQ could certainly hold its own among meat joints in the Lone Star State.  Tasty and lean. Lots of sauce choices, which is unusual.

The prices were quite reasonable, big portions, good sides, and the live music towards the end of our meal was an unexpected bonus.

They really need to sell some beer, however.  Not being a local, I don't fully grasp the alcohol laws, but good BBQ demands a good beer.

Greg and Sheri have done a phenomenal job with this place. Their meats are consistently outstanding, the sauces are very authentic, and their sides are great. I recommend the broccoli slaw (no, really - it's awesome). We're big fans of everything we've had here (and we've tried it all), but generally we go for the brisket, ribs or chicken. To be honest, we love the combo platters where we can get some of everything!

    Well worth the drive.

Did they change owners? Recipes? Eh, it's just a smidge above average now. The pecan pie bar keeps 'em at a 4 though :)

Average BBQ.  Pulled pork didn't taste fresh; it tasted like it had been sitting in a warmer.  The brisket was good as were the sauces.  Beans were not.  Overall just average.

teeny tiny huntsville on the way to pineview reservoir and cemetery point beach. Take the turn and stop here for some great bbq on your way to or from the lake. They have a great outside area with picnic tables, lovely grass and lift chairs scattered around. Good sauces- my favorite was the mustard, my companions liked the smoky bbq. The sides were pretty good- the coleslaw had big chunks of cabbage, which I like better than the julienne, especially for a creamy coleslaw. The brisket and pulled pork- yum. The ribs...yum. The beans yum... get the picture?
Next time I'm going to order some of their desserts.... It's the perfect place after a day at the lake- I love these little town joints...
No liquor license though... that's not good. But, hey... if you know ahead of time, that's all you need to know.

I had been meaning to get up here for quite a while, I have to say I was not disappointed.  It was probably some of the best brisket I have ever had.  The beans were above average as well as the potato salad.  They had probably 6 or 7 different barbeque sauces available and I tried 4 of them.  2 of them were excellent (The hot and the mustard based) and two were average (can't remember the names).

It is a quaint little spot and the location is beautiful with the park across the street and Pineview reservoir a couple blocks away.  The one thing I did think was interesting was the time they closed.  They close at 8pm and that seems a little early (at least in the summer) to catch the crowds of people leaving the lake hungry after a day of boating, and it can make it difficult getting from home up to the valley before 8, but if it is working for them who am I to judge.  But as far as the food goes, I really enjoyed it.

Lest there be any confusion, "Huntsville Barbecue Company" and "Texas Pride Barbecue" are one and the same, --which undoubtedly makes it twice as good!  :-)

My wife and I made the trip to Hunstsville to try it out and were very pleased. Very friendly staff, great service, good prices, and most importantly, great food and plenty of it.  Plan on taking home the leftovers.

Add all this to the fact that Huntsville and the surrounding Ogden Valley are beautiful places to visit any time of year, and there's a park across the street that's a great place for the kids to run and play in summer, and in the winter, it doubles as an ice sheet for some family ice skating.

Bottom line:  Lots of reasons to recommend the Huntsville Barbecue Company (or Texas Pride, if you prefer).  You won't be disappointed!

This, my friends, is genuinely good BBQ that would hold its own anywhere. I was surprised to find such a good restaurant here, let alone good BBQ.

The ribs were perfectly smoked and delicious. The pulled pork was a touch dry, but tasty despite that. All the sides we tried were good - something that can't be said of a lot of BBQ joints. I recommend the broccoli slaw, because it's an unusual and tasty addition to the menu. The beans were just ok, but still better than average.

The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but it's just like what a BBQ place is supposed to be -- except cleaner and nicer (a welcome touch; if you've been to any of the BBQ places in Kansas City or the South, you'll know what I mean...)

Recommended, but check their hours before going.

We were camping at Pineview and decided to head into Huntsville for an early dinner one evening.  When spotting TexasPride across from the park, my mouth started to water at the thought of barbecue.  We were not disappointed!  The brisket was melt in your mouth with a beautiful pink smoke ring, the chicken well seasoned and the pulled pork tender and flavorful. We each got different sides so we could sample more.  I loved the potato salad, the beans had tons of bacon but the best was the broccoli slaw.  Eric and Greg make their own barbecue sauces; Original, Smoky and Spicy that are served on the side so you can pick and choose (or mix them like I do).  Each entree came with a slice of bread and a pickle.  Drinks are self-serve from a fountain.
The atmosphere was fun with brushed aluminum tables and old chair lifts for seating in the booths.
Our experience was so good that we hired them to cater our adoption party a few months later.  Eric came out and took care of all the details.  He made suggestions on the amount of meat we should order to feed the large crowd and even brought out all the paper products.
It was also nice to get a follow-up email to check on our satisfaction with their service.  We've recommended them to family and friends and will go back every time we're in Huntsville.
