Great tourist spot, and I can only imagine how the nightlife turns into a spot for locals.
We stopped in on their non-lunch rush, and got prompt service and some average bar food.
GO for their Happy Hour time to determine if this is a spot for you. This is going to be a "hit or miss" location without consistency.
Non-Food Review:
I came here with my buddies on our last night in Marathon. Great local spot with great hospitality. My friends and I ordered some cocktails, played some darts while listening to a live blues band which had the entire place groovin'. Definitely one of the better, more memorable nights of the entire trip. Stop reading and just go already!
Great Pizza and wings. At first we couldn't make up our minds on what flavor wings so they said they'd mix em and boy were they amazing medium spicy teriyaki wings. We also ordered the Meaty Pie. It had pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, and bacon and not bits but slices of bacon. We ate all but one slice and there was only two of us. They have great lunch specials at around $5. I will most definitely eat here again. Oh and they have the most awesome Lego setup :)
Review Source:We tried The Hurricane for lunch. Â It's a sports bar/family restaurant combo. Â Pleasant enough atmosphere, especially the Lego display and the 45 rpm records as decor. Â However, the friendly waitress was the only one on duty, and she had to scramble to keep up. The food is basically bar food with a bigger menu. Â The conch fritters were eminently forgettable, as was the flatbread personal pizza. Â Not horrible, but they won't be earning a Michelin star any time soon, either. Â Overall, it's okay but nothing more.
Review Source:We came out here because it was the closest place to our hotel that had live music on a Sunday! This was one of the most fun nights of our trip!! :)
It might sound strange, but I am a mozzarella stick connoisseur...and these were some of the BEST mozzarella sticks I've ever had! The marina sauce was sweet and spicy and fresh. If you want something inventive to snack on.... TOTCHOS! mmmmmmmm Tator Tots smothered in cheese, bacon, scallions, and sour cream... YUM!!!
My mom and I shared a pizza with spinach, artichokes, and pepperoni... 1 pizza will easily feed 4-5 people.... the good news is we had leftovers for back at the hotel after drinking all night :)
The drinks....oh my god the drinks.... not weak... these bartenders know how to pour!!! Delicious and just the right price...oh and the icing on the cake? The band!!! The hot guitar player with dreads was our favorite :)
Like Kimberly D. noted, the $5 lunch menu is your Golden Ticket.
My husband was in love with his Sea Dog Blue Paw Blueberry Beer and shrimp.
The stir-fry plate I had was so delicious and had plenty of flavor. We also split an order of sliders which were awesome.
Go for the food, stay for the Lego recreation of Miami Beach. Good service, clean bathroom, great lunch.
We were here this past Thursday night which is "Wing Night". We came with our friends who are locals and had a good time although it was fun because of the conversation and not the actual restaurant.
I wouldn't say that the food was anything special. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty good but nothing special. It really reminded me of the restaurant/bars that I went to when I was in college. It felt like a bar with food more than a restaurant with a bar. Not a bad place but I would set your expectations fairly low.
Part-bar, part-restaurant, we came here because it is walking distance (20 min walk along the highway) from the municipal marina, where we docked our boat. Â
We dined in the restaurant, which is in a separate room from the bar. Â They serve typical bar foods like burgers and fried conch fritters, as well as slightly more gourmet dishes. Â The conch fritters were a too much dough and not enough conch, but the salad was fresh and came with a great dressing. Â
Slightly odd in the dining room was a huge display of Miami's South Beach made entirely out of Legos. Â I'd love to hear the story of how it came to be here.
