Independent Club

I was surprised when this turned out to be a dive bar, from the name I was expecting either a nightclub or some sort of upscale restaurant.    

Since we were the first customers of the day  (I believe we arrived about 10:30-11:00am to get a good start on our day) it was hard to get a good read on the place.   Our bartender was an older woman who was pretty quiet and reserved.

The space is very big, about twice the size of most downtown dives in small towns.   There are a couple of pool tables, and I think I saw a shuffleboard, I can't remember for sure.  There was also a payphone... something you almost never see anymore.

I'm assuming this has to become a pretty fun hangout later when it's busy.   How could it NOT be, what with all the oversized inflatable decor hanging from the ceiling?   (See photos.)
