This was my only experience at this bar, but it was terrible. Every restaurant has it's bad nights, but there are some things that are inexcusable. First off, our waitress reeked like cigarette smoke. She was also completely unaware of the specials for the evening, which were listed clearly on a chalkboard outside, and when asked what beers were on tap she answered "the normal ones." When we asked about the $2 Leinenkugel's Red that we saw on the specials board, she had never even heard of the beer and couldn't pronounce it. After a horrifically stressful day of traveling, I gave up on the beer and ordered a long island... biggest mistake of my life. I was served what tasted like nothing more than a cheap rum and coke with an old, crusty orange slice on the rim as a garnish. I then chose to order what seemed to be the most fool-proof item on the menu: a chicken, bacon, ranch wrap with cottage cheese as my choice for a side dish. The wrap was awful: wilted, old lettuce, bacon bits, and room temperature, stringy chicken. My plate had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for some time, as the plate was hot and the cottage cheese was warm and all settled and milky. I ate about 3 bites of my food, couldn't finish the drink, paid my tab and left still very hungry and very sober. How sad. The one star is for the ambiance, as I love old wood work and the place has character. I would NEVER go back.

Holy Cow! This is a bar with some great eats!  They have many beers on tap: Sam Adams, New Belgium 1554, Guinness, and other very nice selections.  They also have bar fare: Nachos, quesadillas, burgers, etc.  Great Sandwiches like the turkey reuben.  But to take it to the next level they have prime rib and sole amandine or meuniere!!!  Go, eat, drink, enjoy!!!  And from where I sit, very reasonable.

I have to give this place props for three reasons:

    (1)  It (the bar, anyway) was still open during its posted hours when so many of its downtown neighbors were closed WELL ahead of their posted closing times.  (A huge disappointment to us out-of-towners.)

    (2) It's a very nice looking place.   I loved the two-tiered dining area.

    (3) Guinness on tap.

However it loses points for a couple of reasons.

    (1)  We were the only customers, and the staff made it very clear through their actions that they wanted us to hurry and get out so they could close early.  Huddling around us with their belongings in hand, jingling their keys, and openly talking about their plans for "as soon as they can get out of here".

    (2) The bartender was pretty, well, racist.    I'd expect that at a dive bar, but the things she was saying I'd never expect to hear from a bartender at a nice place like this.    Her strong opinions, while not directed at us, did not suit this type of setting.   Save it for a country roadhouse.
