Great courses!  From tee box to fairway to green this course is clean!  Played both courses on consecutive days and all I can say is the courses are a combination of challenge and beauty.  Regardless of the 100+ desert temperatures the dry air makes it bearable or maybe it's just the conditions on the course that make it tolerable.

All in all I would love to come play this course again!

Great course...good difficulty but yet somewhat manageable...not everything has an OB in play...

service is amazing!!! the cart service comes by to refill the ice in your personal box and fills your cups...everyone is very friendly...the staff is really above and beyond nice...cant say that about all resort golf courses!!!! I've played here twice and did terrible both times...but would still love to come back...

food inside the shop is decent...shared two sandwiches the chicken salad is memorable..

you can hit off grass at the range which is a huge plus!!!...free balls to practice before your tee time....

the pace is pretty fast as well...it was a busy sunday but we werent really behind pace much...everyone plays much faster than at Brookside in pasadena...waiting 10 mins on each hole creates agitation!!!!

i'll be back to re-challenge this course soon!!!!!

Top Notch all the way down. The club house is gorgeous. We played both the Celebrity course and the Players course. The celebrity course is hands down the nicest Muni course I have ever seen. Its down right beautiful. The players course is great as well. Not as picture-esque, but still great. Plays super fast, and worth the money.

This is one of the finest municipal courses in the country.  Deluxe service from the moment you arrive in the parking lot and have your clubs whisked away to your cart to the course servers who refill your ice cups and coolers every three holes to the post game staff who clean your clubs and have them waiting back in the parking lot for you to pick up.

The players course is a fine and thoughtful layout with elevation changes, uneven fairway lies, heavily bunkered and pure greens.  Your course management will be tested on every shot and you will need every club in your bag.

Although you are paying $150 a round here, there is excellent value for your golfing dollar.  The well-travelled golfer will find that they are playing a well-maintained and demanding american layout with first class service for a fraction of what they would pay at comparable layouts across the country.

The service is great start to finish, very friendly staff always willing to help. The greens are always well maintained, even in the off season. I love the views from both courses. Both the players and Celebrity courses offer a great challenge. You must check out one of the best club houses around!!

With EZlinks, this golf course was a great deal.  Beautiful, high class course for $30.  Worth much more.  The staff is so friendly and helpful. We played the Celebrity course one day and the Players on another.  Both are worth playing.
I would skip the restaurant if possible. We ordered two salads which were not very big or filling AND cost a lot.  The atmosphere is very nice but you will pay a high price for anything you order.

The staff here was the best I have ever experienced at a golf course. From the man who took my bag at the front to the golf shop employees to the starter, everyone I came into contact with were beyond kind. It was a genuine kindness.
As for the course itself, it was beautiful. I went out at about 1 PM on a weekday, and didn't even see another group until the back 9. The fairways were well maintained and the greens were in great condition. I can't wait to play here again.

First Impressions- This place is in a totally different class of courses than I'm use to playing...The 2 Ferrari's parked in the front didn't help.

Pre Round- Pulled right into the front of the clubhouse's valet and was greeted by not 1 but 3 valets that took care of our clubs and car. We went into the beautiful clubhouse and pro shop. We settled up and they gave us a pager that will announce when it is time for us to report to the 1st tee. So after leaving the pro shop we walked right out to the range where your golf cart awaits with our clubs. We enjoyed the free Callaway range balls while warming up. We then received our page and went across the bridge to the 1st tee where the starter was. The starter had a great personality and seemed to have a joke for everything. He explained the course and the GPS to us first timers and away we went.

The Round- I played the Celebrity course over the Players course simply because I remember watching the Skins game on this particular track. I'm sure the Players course was just as nice. Lots of hills on this course which surprised me at the beginning. This course favored the accurate golfer over the long hitter due to its target golf layout. There are many bunkers and bodies of water to navigate. In my opinion, they make for a great looking course but come into play very little if you can hit the ball straight. The front nine is a little more open with hills compared to the back nine which is flatter but has water on all but 3 holes. I believe there was a total of 9 holes that have some water on them. The greens were simi-firm and looked a lot faster than what they were. Approach shots usually held on if hit high enough. The tee boxes were very nice and flat. Customer service was amazing on the course as well. The cart lady came by every 3 holes and her cart was awesome. It even had a margarita machine and bloody mary bar. Just when it started to get into the mid 90's a marshal came by with a fresh ice water towel for each member of the group. (That felt amazing by the way).

After Round- Pull into the cart drop area and once again we are greeted by 4 attendants that cleaned our clubs and took them up to the valet area. We then went into the clubhouse's dinning area to have lunch and watch the final round of the U.S. Open.

I would highly recommend playing here in early summer time simply because it will save you over $100 a round. We paid $75 per person on Fathers Day and if we would of played in early spring it would of been over $200 a player.

Amazingly nice for a "public course"

I wish I had time to play the course. Overall, the resort looks good. The pool looks inviting. It even has a little beach for the kids or adults to play on the white sand.

The only thing negative are the outdated rooms. It is definitely due for an update.

This is the best kept secret in the desert. From bell to bell this is a completely outstanding experience. Golf course is in fantastic condition. The staff, Jack, Stan, Brian, Joe and all of the others make this the best public golf experience possible.

This would have earned a 5 stars but there were two things that were bothersome. I guess they allow people to play the back 9 as late as you want because just as we were starting our 10th hole, in comes a single to our 4 some... Then right after him, a 2some followed right after us.. This makes no sense at all. The 2nd issue was more concerning. My friend left his sun glasses in the cart, we loaded up and just we were leaving the resort, we returned for them. To his dismay, he was told, "there were no glasses." He didn't want to make a scene, so we left. Make sure you have everything with you or staff will steal it.

My favorite course in palm dessert or palm springs. I've played here twice in the past 10 years. Probably bias because i've done so well here but the course is still really beautiful. The first time we played the "East Course" but that doesn't exist anymore and a few years ago they redid them and renamed them.

Last year we played the Celebrity Course. The course played a little short, with only 2 par 5s and 2 par 3s. Playing from the white tees most greens were reachable without a long iron, but the holes varied enough with bunkers, water hazards and other elevation changes to keep in interesting.

The physical plant and grounds deserve five or more stars!!! It is fabulous!
Lots of dollars were spent to make the clubhouse, the golf course, and the art works.....spectacular and it is. Everyone who works here, especially the valets and greeters are friendly and helpful. It is a first class joint!
The restaurant is between 3 and 4 stars for me. At times I think the chef is overly ambitious and the quality does not elevate to the level it should. The pastry chef is excellent and the desserts are presented in a most inviting way and usually tastes as good as they look.  But back to the chef, I feel a lot of his spicing and mixtures are strange and too much. At times the food is too salty for me. Some of the sauces are strong and too harsh; esp. on the Waygu beef shortrib dish.  Another problem I have is that the dinners are not steaming hot. Lukewarm entrees never satisfy.  For the most part, I think in general, that anyone would be happy enough with a meal there just based on the ambiance, the good service and the ok food so I would definitely recommend it.

This is an addendum; the following week a friend and I went for the Sunday Brunch. At $18.95 this is a pretty good deal. I am not crazy about the commerical baked goods (muffins, doughy strudel-yuck, and tiny Danish sweet rolls) so I would upgrade that in some way or do something different. The French Toast was so terribly salty, I couldn.t eat it. The syrup was too watery. THE GOOD NEWS....the Omelet Station was exceptionally excellent, as was the variety of tiny sausages and bacon that were delicious, the cream cheese/ricotta Blintzes were perfect, the fruit salad not so good (types of melons, grapefruit sections...nothing I would eat) prefer fresh pineapple chunks, blueberries, bananas, raspberries, etc.), the accoutrement, cream cheese, honey, raspberry coulis, jellies, etc., for the bagels, etc., were great and abundant, and there were plenty of other yummy things to sate your appetite. I am not crazy about orchids, albeit I am sure edible, on my food (sound like a parenvu I know)  A fun Sunday with great ambiance.

Had my nana's 75th birthday here, it worked out really good.  I wouldn't say the food was spectacular, but we were part of a large party and it was a fixed menu.  The chicken was moist and the salmon was well cooked - not sure what else you could ask for.

The view was amazing.  I posted a picture of a hawk and his handler.  Rather than killing seagulls, pigeons and crows, this guy comes to the golf course a few days a week and sends his hawk out to scare them all away - and it works!  Such a cool green way to deal with a problem.  The hawk was the highlight of the day - besides my Nana's 75th birthday, of course!

Players & Celebrity course are both pristine.  First in class golf resort., a must visit if in the area.  Bathrooms are the nicest I've ever been to at a golf resort.  Great club house with dining menu.  Staff is nice.  They also have a cool 18 hole practice putting area.  Hearts!

Great course to play with all the bells and whistles. From the beginning, greaet enterance and free valet parking, take your clubs and they put them on a cart. Very modern club house. Putting green is actually a 9 hole putting course with mini bunkers and a lot of undulation. definately worth trying out, takes about 10 minutes.  Fairways are amazing and so is the rough. The rough is like fairways at decent muni's. Tee boxes were good, as were bunkers. Greens were very firm, and you may not want to pin seek, or can end off the green. Greens are cut very very short, where you can see brown under the grass. You can put from 50 yards out if you want, because fairways are manicured so well. I lagged it very close once from 40 yards. A couple par 4's are reachable for straight average drives, and birdies can be had by all, as I even got one. Many ESA's that give free drops where you see flowers all over the course. Customer service was great for the most part. 2 of us had tee times 10 minutes apart, but the desk guy said he'd have no trouble accomodating us to play together. He got us out, but then someone else gave us a hard time and tried to make us feel bad, but then came on back later to apologize.  Friendly staff otherwise. Definatly a course you want to play. Gets hot during the spring and summer, so bring plenty of water. Definately a good time and low scores to come here.

This is a course worth playing. The grounds are meticulously maintained with some of the holes offering incredible views of the course and mountains. The course is fairly easy from the whites but a real challenge for the average 15 handicapper from the blues.  The greens are fast and tricky.

Staff are helpful and really well trained. On a recent Saturday, play was slow after the 3rd hole. On the fourth hole the ranger drove up, apologized for the delay and told us he broke up a group that was slowing play. Sure enough speed of play increased on the 6th hole.

You can play for $125 through stand by golf. Well worth the money.

    LG Skins Game 2008

Somehow, someway on Saturday night I was given a free pass for Sundays 9 hole competition at Indian Wells in Palm Desert. With somewhat of a hangover from many drinks at McCormicks, I arrived at the gates around 8am.

Headed straight to the practice range where I found Rocco Mediate and KJ Choi warming up. After taking a couple photos and being reminded by another spectator "no cameras allowed"... I headed to the bar. Bar was inside and I didnt have the proper credentials. So, Peets coffee had to suffice. Ran into Phil Mickelson as I wandered to the 1st tee and said "good morning". That guys a stud.

Walked the 9 holes with the other 2500 people attending, had a couple beers from the beer cart girl and got the hell outta there!

The grounds at this course are the finest Ive ever seen and or played on. The organizers had this thing sewn up tight. Transport in and out was effortless. Plenty of bathrooms and helpful volunteers. Im planning a couple days in December to play the Players Course and experience what the pros did. Its a paradise in the desert.
