Wow.. I can't believe this place is open 6am to 2am regardless of how many customers they have. That's pretty good... Was there yesterday. Not a whole lot of people since it was Monday.. Apparently they have karaoke except on Mondays.. I have to check that out.. Met the very friendly owner, the bartender and friendly regulars. Had fun at this dive bar.

This is one of my local pubs, every time I've gone its been a good time. The people and staff are friendly. Plus, we were looking for a local pub  to watch the Rugby World Cup and they were nice enough to put it on for us! My number 1 local dive! There is NOTHING bad to say about this place... if you live in the area and are looking for a good dive pub... this is number 1, my 2nd is Rosewood.

I came here on a Tuesday night for karaoke with my grandparents. A friend of mine who's a regular, suggested we try it. From the outside, the places looks like a hole in the wall, very plain white wall with just a sign on the door that says 21 & Over but once you walk through the wooden "saloon" doors you enter a far more welcoming place. Everyone there was friendly and the drinks were super cheap. 2 premium drinks, a diet coke and two beers for $21. Not bad if you consider the prices of alcohol these days. And they were good premium drinks. Left happy :)

Drinks were really cheap!!! My girlfriends ordered a drink, and the bartender didn't have the right ingredients so she went out and bought it next door, the people were extremely friendly, and over 40. As old as they are though they were really friendly, and they could all sing Kareoke pretty well.

walking through the irish tower's swinging wooden doors (the kind you would imagine in a western flick), you're bound to completely forget all about the dirty little strip mall you were in just seconds ago, as you are immediately greeted with classy little light bulbs illuminating the bar area.

needless to say, but dim lighting + beer goggles = gorgeous 50+ year old women.

although a dive by nature, the bar was surprisingly clean with an immaculate restroom.  so clean, in fact, that i would be willing to stop by to pound a few brews just to use the pisser.

but back to the bar....although the regulars seemed to be 40 and older (and i mean older), they were extremely cordial and welcoming.  so much so, in fact, that they offered my buddy and me some birthday cake.

unfortunately, what goes around, comes around.  as quickly as you forgot about that strip mall as you entered the irish tower, you'll just as quickly remember that you're in a dirty little strip mall as you exit.  just don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

    notes:
domestic brews are approximately $3; karaoke on friday nights; electronic dart board

i have to agree with Robert p on this one here the drinks are super strong and the beer is super cold and it seems like everyone there at one point one a Grammy because damn the just all sing so damn good but if you rnot feeling brave like these good folks just walk across the street and goto the Hawaiian room

Okay, so tonight, I was at the Irish Tower. If my English reaches 3rd grade proportions, it's only because at this place, they pour STRONG. Like, the way you think Kimbo Slice prolly smells after a workout type STRONG.

Sure, I'm in Bellflower, reviewing another Bellflower spot, but then again, who's gonna stop me? The yelp police? Sorry, folks, they're not here to save you.

Anyway, two things I have to say right off the top, aside from the yelp police thing and the strength of the adult beverages poured at the Irish Tower. First off, those people are honest-to-high-holy-god good people in there. Not just the bartenders, who make Flo from Alice's Diner look metrolpolitan, but the guests (clients? patrons? victims? when one knows the other people have been here longer and are drinking more and certainly have far fewer healthy liver cells, what the hell is the right term?) are some of the darn nicest folks you'd ever care to meet.

The second thing is that while karaoke might sound god-awful going into the bar, it sure as hell sounds like Grammy material walking out. These folks karaoke like it's an Olympic event and all Federal taxes are paid for life if you make the team. It's awesome. And the pure friendliness is so markedly OUT THERE (token RR review with an ALL CAPS statement) that everyone walks out feeling so Frank Sinatra, they're ready to get in bed with the mob and make jokes at Dean Martin's expense.

There is a bar across the street from the Tower, but frankly, it's really not any of the above. It's as close to self-serve as an establishment with a full liquor license can be, has all the ambiance of a Chinese morgue, and was to welcoming what Oprah is to pole-vaulting.

So, if you've decided tonight is your DUI night, and you don't live within walking distance, all it takes is one trip to the Irish Tower.

    I love this bar. . .
