My 2 star review could be debatable. If you are looking for a smoky bar to hang out with a bunch of locals-this is your place. Check it out! However if you are a young female, just getting off from work in professional clothes and high heels, you will definitely look out of place.
I can't say this is my type of hangout at all. And it is cash only, so don't walk in thinking you can use a debit card-I did that and quickly turned right back around out of the place.
We had stopped for the night in Manchester on a road trip and were out looking for places to kill some time. Â We had already been to the couple of bars on the main drag. We had headed to downtown and found nothing. On a hunch we decided to head south on Hwy 55. But when nothing turned up, I decided to turn around. My friend stopped me though and encourage me to go just a bit further.
Then, there it was, ahead on the right -- the blinking lights of Irma's Place. A bonus bar... as none of our resources and indicated this would be here.
We arrived just after... a failed wet t-shirt contest. Apparently it was a success in that it had drawn a lot of guys, but no girls showed up to participate. :) Karaoke was now underway instead.
The bartender was friendly and she and the other guests welcomed the obvious strangers that we were. Â This was a good place to wind down on this rainy November night.
