I came here after a hard day of hiking at Bear Mountain and I was very hungry! I would've jammed anything in my food hole just to make the dreadful hunger cease. Basically anything that I would shove in my mouth would be very delicious to me.
Unfortunately for the Iron Frog Tavern, they just did not have enough flavor for me. The food was pretty good albeit pricy. My party of hungry hikers ordered 3 pitchers of beer and for appetizers, we ordered wings and nachos. The nachos were pretty good as they had fresh melted cheese on top instead of gross cheese whiz and they had jalapenos sprinkled on. I thoroughly enjoyed those nachos. As for the wings, they were good, just not great. Not too many came on the plate and they were not spicy or crispy enough.
For my entree I ordered the Bourbon BBQ Chicken and I was disappointed. The bun was toasted to the point where it had a lot of black char on it and so was the chicken. Bleh. There was just not enough sauce or flavor on the sandwich. As for the fries that came with it, they were a bit too fat and soggy. I like my fries thinner and crispy.
The restaurant was very crowded but we got in fast because we made a reservation on Open Table. The service was adequate and nothing to complain about. Overall, it was an A-OK experience. I probably won't be going back but that's just because I want to experience more restaurants in the area.
Had a business appointment in the building and stopped for drinks and a late lunch/early dinner. We were happy to come at happy hour, since they have good drink prices and a selection of small plates if you want to eat a little something. There weren't many people there when we went. The service (bartender and food server) was very attentive and helpful. Nice atmosphere, too.
