went in with my boyfriend for lunch, and the blonde waitress with the really high sqeaky voice (Jennifer) kept flirting with him right infront of mee. She kept giggling and walking by. And when it was time to leave and she brought the check she only adressed him and said thank u and smiled. As we were leaving i noticed on the back of the receipt it said "Thank You" with a smiley face. She was also trying to talk to him about video games. Not cool.

One of the chain restaurants I do not mind eating at since the burgers are good and the prices are reasonable  even though the prices did go up recently.  The unlimited fries they give you are the best.  The service was also good at this location.

We had burgers and fries and both were excellent. Service was a little slow but maybe it was because it was just after lunch.

I got the Maui. Burger was massive but the taste was just okay. the bread was like an inch wider than everything in the burger. Towards the end i was just eating bread.
    Love the endless fries.
First it was Saturday around 3 so i expected a long wait but we got a table right away.
If my review was just based off food, I'd give it an extra star but our service was not what it should had been. We had two waiters. The first one was awesome. He was attentive, and asked us if we were okay every time he passed our table. But he needed to leave so another guy came to wait on us.
He was just not good. He came by to tell us he was our new server, but then didn't pay attention to us the entire time. We wanted to take a desert to go and we waited 20 minutes (after we finished eating) to put our order in and we still didn't give it to our waiter. We got so tired of waiting we had to ask the bus girl (who was awesome) for our check.
I don't mind waiting but 20 minutes AFTER I'm done eating JUST for the check is ridiculous.

After I posted my review, including not hearing back from the restaurant about the incident, I was contacted by Corporate who were very nice and gave me a direct phone number as well as an email address in which to contact them. After further communication and clarification, I was then contacted by the General Manager of the location who was extremely polite and took the time to listen. Because of this, I wanted to provide an update to my review.

I will be going back to this restaurant in the future, and highly recommend anyone else give them a try.

Came in on a Saturday at around 11:30am for lunch and it was perfect timing, no wait and less of a crowd. Our waitress was very helpful and understanding, as we had two kids in our group - spilled items, things on the floor, the usual but she wasn't annoyed with our requests of extra napkins or food items. The fries are always good here and I was able to order from the kids menu which was great! The Jr. Grilled Chicken sandwich was pretty good, the chicken breast itself was cooked very well and juicy. The sandwich was plain, just chicken and a bun. So I would ask to put some lettuce and cheese or tomatoes inside next time. And you get one side - which of course I chose fries. Others at my table got the turkey burger and she loved it and the kids loved their mini cheeseburgers with fruit as well.

this is my favorite islands out of all the islands i've been to. everything here is always yummy. the tuna tastes great, the tacos are awesome, and the service including take out is always friendly with a smile. =) i am only giving it 4 stars however, because my last experience wasn't too pleasing. the fries seemed as if they sat there, and the soup was a little too runny for me. they still get 4 stars because it was my first bad experience, and the manager was very quick to fix things. this has been one of my favorite places to eat at, and take home, and it usually come here about 2-3 times a month. =) come to this island for all your burger needs!

I'm typing this as I sit here. we arrived around 9pm and they told us it'd be a 15-20 minute wait. which was fine, even though plenty of tables were available. these two ladies come in a good 5 minutes after us apparently knew someone that worked here and so they got seated right away. I didn't know VIP service existed here. anyways, one of the workers (too bad they don't wear nametags) gave these two ladies 100% of her attention. instead of working, she's even sitting with them every few minutes. she (the worker) proceeded to call over a fellow worker and told him to "shake your ass" for the table. how inappropriate is that? is this what the work establishment has come to? disrespectful.

I will not be coming to this location anymore.

My wife and I come here when we want a snack and a drink, especially after getting out of a night class at PCC.  I consider this a 'Burger & Bar' joint, rather than a regular sit down restaurant.  The Hawaiian theme limits the food and burger choices, but we have enjoyed our meals here.

Be sure to sit in the bar area because Aaron and the bartending staff take good care of you.  We have only sat outside the bar area once in the last five years, when we brought my Mom there.

My wife likes the Mai Tai and I get the Arnold Palmer (being a responsible driver).  The Happy Hour prices are very reasonable.

There are numerous televisions around the dining room area with two huge ones across the bar area.  You can watch sporting events or just some cool surfing footage.  Aaron has been very accommodating when we have requested changing one of the televisions from one event to another, especially if it is one of the local Southern California teams rather than a national broadcast.

Food?  We love the Bleunami burger!  We also get the Tiki tenders and the tortilla soup (endless bowl!).  The Beachside Sliders are good, but a little bit messy, so ask for extra napkins.  The chips and salsa are just okay (we like LaTolteca's the best).

We have come here 30-40 times in the last five years, so we are 'semi-regulars'.  The only real problem we have encountered is parking in the shared parking lot.  There are too many restaurants for the parking lot and we will not wait more than 30 minutes, even on a Friday or Saturday night.  Get there early on those nights.

The burger and fries were not so good & the waitress messed up in charging the bill.

Service overall was not bad, but the quality of food will make me think twice before coming back.  I've been here before in the past, and the burger and fries were good, but this time, it tasted like it was just reheated from the freezer or something.

I've gone to this location a couple of times over the years, I haven't really had any complaints because I've figured out what works - get your burger well-done, nothing else comes out right. I'm pretty sure they won't say it but I think their patties are frozen so they can't cook them medium well. Doesn't bother me, I do just fine with a well-cooked burger :) I've also come here whilst being a vegetarian and on days when I would rather not eat beef, their veggie patties and turkey patties do just as well as the beef ones.

I LOVE their iced green tea, I'm not even sure what it is but I feel like it's not too sweet and it goes well with the food.  My favorite burger is the Hawaiian, it keeps me from exploring their menu.  My boyfriend tried their new Nalu Nalu burger last time and that was a pleasant surprise.  I've also had their Maui, Hula and Big Wave and I have enjoyed them all.

I've never had any issue with the service here either, or none that I can recall. They are friendly and accommodating.  I can recall one instance when I wanted Islands and my cousin wanted Chipotle so she got her burrito and came to sit down and eat with me at Islands.  They didn't tell her to leave, which would have been understandable, but they brought her a plate and asked that she put away anything that showed that she got the burrito from somewhere else.  I thought it was pretty funny but they found a way to make it convenient for the two of us.

I have had Islands before so this location meets my expectations. I had the Point Break burger and I enjoyed it very much. Also their turkey burgers are quite juicy. I suspect it's the apple sauce they add to the ground turkey, but I digress. The only disappointment was the fact that they gave me very few fries that weren't too fresh tasting. Oh well, 20 dollars for an A-Okay lunch, hmmmm *shrugs*.

Walked in for a lunch with the coworkers...service was pretty good, but the food seemed rather like a wanna-be version of Red Robins. Fries and burgers were both okay but not great. The seasoning salt did help, but Red Robins' is better. The salad was decent, but half is really not satisfying enough. Honestly, I probably wouldn't come here again...

Stopped in on Friday night after an evening trip to IKEA.  Service was excellent.  My partner was a little disappointed at not finding gluten- and wheat-free items: the onion rings and the onion crisps on her burger were coated in regular flour.  The burgers were OK.  The beer (Brown and Golden) were good.  I don't think we'll go out of our way for an Islands in the future, though.

I just love Islands! I know people tend to say "This isn't a real burger" or "Why are these fries SO salty"?! I happen to like this place. I feel this Islands is the nicest location I've seen. The ceilings are super tall and it gives off more of a Tiki vibe.

We visited on Saturday night. My daughter is expecting her first child and she was DYING for the tiki tenders. So she had that with a side of fries. I was browsing the menu and then I spotted the special of the evening - A burger and a pint of beer for $10!!! UNBEATABLE!!! Our whole table got that and paired it with their Pale Ale. We sat, hung out and had some more beer.

The service was GREAT, the location was clean and the beer was ice cold!! This is my new favorite location!

Oh, how I'd missed Islands. The location in Elk Grove closed and became a Sizzler, and I don't usually drive up to Roseville. This one was ridiculously close to our hotel while I was down in West Covina for a birthday. The perfect meal to end a long drive from NorCal!

Malibu Burger (Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, american cheese, applewood smoked BACON & mustard) on whole wheat, and those endless fries. I totally would've gotten cheddar fries in a heartbeat, but I love my heart too much. Mom got a Hula Burger (Sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, swiss & mayo) subbing with a Turkey patty and we took the Greek Salad to go! Refreshing Green Iced Tea as well.

Overall, a good craving satisfied. Even if it took us 400 miles to get there.

I love Islands what can I say?

Just thinking about their Hawaiian Burger is making my mouth water and my stomach grumble. Sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce slathered over Thick juicy beef patty, swiss cheese and pineapple slices, fresh lettuce and tomatoes plus onion fries on toasted wheat bun. Don't forget the bottomless fries, crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside. Wash it all down with strawberry lemonade. Yum! I'm such a piggy.

Do I have room for dessert? Hell yeah! Chocolate Lava baby- Fudge brownie, topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, roasted almonds & a cherry on top.

My son enjoyed his Bluenami burger as well. The tortilla soup has really good flavor.

Can't wait for my next trip.

Okay, I absolutely love Islands.  I've yet to have a problem at an Islands restaurant and this one was no exception.

We came in and were seated immediately and the waitress took drink orders and came back shortly afterwards to take our food orders.  I ordered the Bleunami with island reds which are tempura fried red onions, adds a nice crunch to the burger.  The food came out quick and hot and it was perfect.

Our waitress was extremely dillegent about checking on us and refilling our drinks and all in all it was a great experience.

I was excited to eat here with my boyfriend, but honestly the food was greasy and the service was bad.

We had to wait half an hour for someone to take our orders or bring our drinks...it was not an enjoyable experience.

When we asked the waitress to please bring us a new basket of fries she took like 10 minutes and after that she brought us burnt greasy fries that were practically inedible.

I've had better food at a regular junk food restaurant and a lot less of what we payed.

I don't usually choose Islands as the burger place to go to but they definitely have the best Kilauea burger! It's my favorite, a little bit spicy with pepperjack cheese, pepper, onion straws..and I'm trying to be healthy so I substituted the beef patty to a turkey patty for no extra charge! I love that! And WOWZIES the turkey patty was the juiciest patty I've ever had in my life. I would've finished the entire burger if I wasn't so full! And also the endless fries are really good, fresh potatoes! Or you can sub for onion rings for no extra charge but they're not endless. I will definitely come back for another Kilauea turkey burger!

My favorite spot for happy hour!  Mon-Fri till 7pm in the bar area!  Their signature beers are only about $4..  I always enjoy their Golden Ale, served in mugs so frosty that there's always a layer of ice on top!  Sliders are always yummy, as are the chips and salsa...  and the best part?  They're only $5 and $1 respectively!

When we went there on Friday, there was a new limited time artichoke and spinach with chips and salsa for $5.  Quite yummy and large portions!  There were also a good handful of new cocktails for $4.25 each, which tasted fruity, yet strong... perfect for the ladies!

Friendly service, yummy food... at great prices... I really can't think of anything negative to say about them.

It's been years since I've been to Islands. I used to go a lot back about 5 or 6 years ago, and then I moved out of the area and sort of just forgot about it.

Went here for lunch the other day, and was reminded why I used to come so often.

    The burgers.

They definitely serve a good burger. I got Maui burger with island reds and sweet potato fries.

The burger was cooked perfectly, and they don't skimp on the amount of sweet potato fries they give you.

    Service was excellent.

When I'm tired of In N Out, Red Robin or Lazy Dog Burgers I come here with my wife. Its an OK Burger joint with a Hawaiian theme. The staff is always friendly and attend to you quickly. I really do not have any complaints regarding Islands except that they should experiment more with burgers to get different choices.

Must Haves: Kilauea Burger, Pipeline Burger, Cheddar Fries, Island Fries, and the Pesto Paradiso Chicken Burger.

Must Not Haves: Point Break Burger, Nachos, and the Tortilla Chips and Salsa.

If you want a great burger, endless fries or maybe some tacos, get your fix and come to Islands!  They have some really good luch specials.  I had a yummy burger with endless fries for under $8.  My tummy is very happy.

I came here with a good friend of mine to enjoy some much needed girl time and eat delicious food. Both were accomplished!

We started with Margaritas, I got a blended strawberry; it tasted delicious but it was a little light on the tequila, somewhat expected since it was less than $8.

Next up, Cheddar Fries with Bacon. Wow, these were spectacular - especially with Ranch & BBQ sauce. I would describe them as the perfect hangover food that is just as yummy without the hangover. It was a hefty portion and I thought that it would be best for a group of 3-4 people.

We each ordered our own specialty burger, mine with bacon and cheddar and onion straws. It was so flavorful, cooked to perfection, and just the perfect meal. I wish I would've been able to eat all of it, but he burger was super large and after the Cheddar Fries, it was impossible for me!

Our server was awesome and gave us some great suggestions. He was always on top of the table, making sure we were satisfied.

I can't wait to go back and I highly suggestion this place to anyone in the mood for a really awesome burger.

One thing I appreciate about this chain is the fact that you can count on consistency between the different locations, which is a good thing.  Ranging from the quality of the food to degree of cleanliness, you can be sure that they are all about the same.

I'm not going to wax poetic about this place, other than to acknowledge that if you've been to one Islands, you've been to them all.  This location is a pretty good lunch destination because we can usually get in an out in an hour or so.

I've always like Islands, from their overwhelming tiki-decked restaurant to good food. The staff here are great from the second you walk in the door. Attentive, but not over attentive and annoying but not under-attentive and annoying. I always get the Kilauea burger and it's always good! The fries are always great and the spinach artichoke dip is a great way to start off a meal. Oh, and the Cola-Lime Freeze is delicious! The tiki decor is warm and comforting and the ambience is very comfortable. the music is never too loud and there's sports on the bar TVs and surfing videos on the restaurant TVs. Great place!

I'll definitely be coming back here in the future.

Delicious juicy burgers. Great place to eat for a quick lunch.
I just ordered the Kiluea (sp?) Burger. I always order this. There's a bit of a spice to it that i love! The patty is very juicy. I always ask for it to be cooked at medium. Endless fries, that's always great. And an Arnold Palmer which is endless as well!
They always show extreme sports like biking/snowboarding/surfing on their flat screen tv's. Fully stocked bar which we didn't get to because we were on lunch during our work time =
Service here & any other Islands restaurants is always great; it's like they're trained to have a positive attitude.

Mmmm, these burgers are really good.

This Islands had pretty fast service, and I was here on a Friday night.  Very inexpensive for two people and the burgers and fries are good.  The drinks (flavored iced teas) were a bit too flavored/sugary.

When i come to islands its normally not by choice its normally forced by some that i am hanging out with. This last trip to Islands has finally made me see the light.

I have never really been a fan of a restaurant type burger I would rather go have a burger stand burger any day of the week, BUT there are those times when i want something a little more fancy then a "jims burger". A meduim rare Hula is my usual which will satisfy me til my next meal. I used to hate the fact that they did not give you fries with your burger which was one of the reason i didnt not like coming here. I felt the burger was to much for what u were getting. Now that you get fries its a big plus.

This day I wasnt really in the mood for a burger and we somehow ended up at islands since it was close by. I saw they had a nacho plate with carnitas, beans, cheese, sour cream, guac, and jalapeños. The picture sold me so thats what i ordered. Our drinks stay filled our whole visit and as the waiter brought out the nachos im a little shocked as to how big that portion was. The waiter called them  "pretty serious nachos". I used to get these americanized style nachos over at a bar called Gem out in Chino Hills but once that place closed down i was SOL. I had been trying to find a place that had something comparable and wow these nachos did that and more. There was a hefty amount of carnitas on them and it was way to much for one person to eat. Well im sure it can be done but you'll be about ready to pop.

These nachos, the hula, & the service will keep me coming back to Islands in the future. Also the fact that Islands blows red robin out of the water (i hate that place). The only comparable burger for me would be one from Ruby Tuesdays.

Ok ... it's a Thursday night that we ventures to this islands... given this is not my 1st visit to islands... just this one...

It was a pretty breezy night... when we 1st arrvied we were greeted by a group of guys outside smoking ... YUCK it totally set the wrong tone for dinner... once inside... we had to wait about 10 mins... i could see some emypt tables and i was starving so wait plus the smoke that kept getting blown in everytime the door was open really put me in the bad mood.

we were sat w/ Craig... he was super nice one star was just for him... on to the food...

we started w/ the cheese fries w/ chili on the side ... The fries were great and prefectly overly cheesy... the chili however ... wasn't really chili it was a little dry... and seemed a lot like ground beef... maybe turkey?... it was so not chili =(...it didn't stick to the fries at all =/

Igot the roast 1/2 chicken it was a little dry and bland... but htere were lots of sides to put on top like sour cream and salsa to mask the so so chicken ... the cole slaw that came w/ it was just vingar and cabbage?  WTF... it's island slw what happened to the pinapples? meh....

If I go back it'll only be to have cheese fries... so there is a good chance I'll never go back

    cheesy fries w/ chili, 2 chicken tacos, and 1/2 roast chicken +2 sodas +tip = $45

I come to this Islands location quite frequently as my Mother and Grandmother LOVE ISLANDS...why not sure but they do so I come here.  Went here yesterday for Mothers Day, yes Mothers Day, like I said, they like Islands and discovered that they have a new section on the menu, entitled, "Bikini Beach." So, I (the perpetual dieter) ordered the veggie tacos without Avocado, they were good! So good I added ketchup and sour cream and that made them even better!

I now have a new favorite item on this menu! I love going to places that have low calorie selections! They even print the caloric content!  Although my sour cream insertion increased the caloric content they were still deelish and low fat! YEAH FOR ISLANDS!

This location is also clean and quick!

What happens when you play Rock Band w/ your buddies for hours and your stomach starts growling? Well, you get up and go get your grubbin' on and drink your body-weight in booze!!!! Lol!

Just to let you know, we didn't drink our body weight in booze, otherwise we'd be passed at out the restaurant. :P So yeah, after playing several sets of Rock Band with increased difficulty, my friends and I were getting hungry. Also, the occasion was special as my friend broke up with his girlfriend for good reasons and we all needed to celebrate his singlehood with fine burgers and beer (yeah, he couldn't drink be with his now ex-girlfriend, hahaha!)!

Islands, known for it's assortment of gourmet hamburgers. It's not a bad place and they make a decent big-mouth burger. Not cheap though since most burgers will be on the $8+ side of the spectrum and that doesn't even come with fries. But ordering a basket of fries for 4 people is plenty to munch down your burger on and decent value - so it seems like it all good at the end. They were having some sort of Margarita special, had some of those, plus beers and so on. Eating here always hits the spot, and you're left not too full, but filled plenty to be able to walk out the restaurant alive! :)

It seemed kind of empty on a saturday night, maybe because gas prices are making peeps stay in instead of driving out. Ah well, less traffic and more room for the people who dine out, right?

I agree with Roshan V's recommendation on the Kilauea (Kila-Way-a) burger. Nice kick to it!

Islands just opened in West Covina recently and I went today to try it out. It's pretty much a regular chain restaurant like Chilis, and the hamburgers are pretty good. I recommend the Kilauea burger with jalapenos - it was huge - and a basket of fries, which are great for sharing. This place kind of reminds me of Red Robin, although a little classier than that haha.

They also have a good amount of beer on tap, mostly coors and stuff like that. Sadly, they don't have Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb.

Overall it's pretty inexpensive for a sit down restaurant and they do their burgers well. Also, you can get ranch with your fries so that bumps up the rating. Ranch on anything is good.
