Ribeye steak sandwich was great, a big cooked to order whole ribeye between two buns. Hand cut fries ok but needed salt and some more flavor. Ranch sauce really good. Nice staff. Nice interior. Exterior unattractive in grocery store shopping strip and they had a few roaches crawling around the front counter to great you on the way out.

Excellent steaks but absolutely atrocious service. Do not sit at the bar unless you want to wait 2 hours for your food.

We were pleasantly surprised by J & B's. We arrived 45 min before closing and were warmly greeted and immediately taken care of. Had a great waiter and the food was really good. Most of us had burgers, but the corn fritters were a great  starter! Large portions, very good prices and good service! A winner in my book!

Just like everyone said, great atmosphere!  I sat at the bar and watched a football game.  For a Monday night, it was busy in the bar.  The place is huge, as in Winn Dixie huge - because it is located in an old Winn Dixie.

The wait staff and bartender was great.  I order a Ribeye.  For being a steakhouse, the Ribeye was not very good.  On the level of an Outback Ribeye.  Thick and tasty, but lots of fat.  The fellow beside me ordered a medium Sirloin.  The steak was friggy huge, like um, 12 x 14 and thick.  He told me he has been going to J&B's for years and the Sirloin gets the best bang for your buck, yes folks, he said that.  It looked incredible!  I hate to see how big a large was.  In fact, everyone at the bar started to discuss it!!!!  Kind of got lively after that!

I had frog legs as for a app.  They were great.  But being fried, it taste like you know what - fried chicken. The fella next to me said the qual rocks!  Next time.

I gave it a 3+++, almost four.  Not quite a 4 because the Ribeye should have been better, it IS a steak house afterall......

    Well let me tell ya.

Eight of us went to J&B's in Vidalia Saturday night.  Its the only steak house in town as far as I know.  They did a good job getting us seated, took our drink orders and then our food orders.  Some of our folks ordered the Fried Cubed Steak and some of us ordered steaks (Most of which were Med Rare).  I ordered a 12oz Filet Mignon Very Very Rare e.g. bloody (Grin) with a side salad and baked sweet potato and also asked for grilled shrimp on the side.  I would like to denote before I go any farther with this that, unbeknownst to most of us, one person did order a steak well done .

About 30 Min's after we placed our order the server brought out my grilled shrimp.  I told her that they was supposed to be with my steak.  She looked at me and handed me my shirmp (does it really matter what the customer wants.)  About 25-30 Min's later, probably an hour total after we placed our order, our food arrived and MOST all of it was COLD!  Most of it was sent back.  I don't know if they microwaved it or cooked it again but it came back pretty quick.  On top of all this, and without my asking for it, my $25+ 12oz Filet Mignon came to me cut in half (Not butterfly'd) and it wasn't really rare!  I gave them back my now amazingly cold grilled shrimp and told them they needed to be recooked.  I then looked at my two halfs of Filet and decided not gonna happen and took it back to the kitchen entrance and explained that 1) it wasn't Very Very Rare and 2) I had not asked for it to be cut in half!  They took it and I went back to my table to wait.

Well howdy, they brought me a filet which hadn't been cut and probably, not hardly cooked/grilled.  I think they may have put it on, or maybe near, the grill for maybe three minutes a side, if that.  You could still feel parts of the meat (outside) that were cold.  Having worked, as a cook on the grill line, in a fine dining Steak and Seafood restaurant I know that this isn't rocket science because I can do it so I REALLY don't understand the issue here.  I would like to also note that my grilled shrimp did not come back with my meal either.  At this point I was pretty much disgusted and took the plate to the owner at the register as there was nothing going to go right from this point on with the kitchen I figured.  When I got back to the table there was my side of grilled shrimp (6-7 small shrimp) which I did eat and THEY WERE GOOD.

A cook that knows what's going on will look at an order and if there is a Well Done in the mix, they will put it on first and then wait to put the other steaks on in order to ensure the all of the steaks come off the grill, onto the plate, and out to the customer at the same time.  Thereby ensuring a quality HOT, well prepared steak/meal is presented to the customer just as they ordered and expected.  The best that we can figure here is that the cook in the back got the order and put it all on the grill at the same time without regard as to whether there was a mixture of Well Done, Medium, Med Rare, or Rare steaks in the order.  They then pulled each steak of and plated it as it became done and then let it sit until the Well Done steak was finally cooked thereby ensuring cold steaks for everyone except the one that ordered their meat BURNT!

Will I return, probably because my friends like J&B's and I'm not going to be a crabby thorn in their side too much.  I will however say they are much more lienient about things like this than I am.  I will also say that I HAVE had a good steak at J&B's in the past and probably will again but I will need to be much more direct when placing my order (Black and Blue Maybe).

I ended up paying for my wifes meal and drink, my tea and the side of shrimp as well as some other stuff.  HAD the server broken the order down by pay groups as initially asked, NONE of the above would have probably been a problem and it would have also alleviated another issue that came up at check-out time.

First trip since they relocated and it doesn't take long to see why they did so.  The interior of the restaurant is very nice for the area with nice wood work an stone work as well.  The food here is good as well. I think their motto might have something to do with never leaving hungry because it is nearly impossible to do so.  I had the quail dinner with a side salad and sweet potato fries. I am a sucker for both.  Quail are just as much fun to eat as they te to hunt and sweet potato fries are well just plain awesome.  Great spot for a meal in Vidalia.

    Holy cow, what a steak!

First off, this place has a great atmosphere. Friendly hostess and wait staff that never let my drink get less than half full (or half empty depending on your point of view). The place has pretty cool!

Nice looking little place.  I placed my order for Flounder, Fries, and a salad.  The salad was okay.  I have never seen lettuce cut up that small.  The food came before I could eat my salad.  The fish was okay.  It looked like it came per breaded.  The fries and humpy were stone cold.  The waitress never asked how the food was.  The girl at the register asked how the food was.  I told her and she asked if I wanted more fries.  Not at that point.  The choices maybe limited in Vidalia, but there has to be a better place than this.
