I had to try a reuben since it's practically the name of the place, and it was pretty good. Â However, it was the cup of clam chowder I got before the reuben that was a delightful surprise. Â It was thick and had lots of clams. Â The bartender was good, and they had a couple of local beers on tap.
Review Source:I love this bar.  When I first moved to Minnesota from Uppper MIchigan this lil pub kept my spirts up when i was homesick.  Great food, drinks and a big variety of patrons being a mix of locals and college students from both St. Olaf and Carleton College.  I've meet people from MN and all over the world in this bar.  Come for a drink, stay for the new friends you'll meet  (sounds corny , but it's true)
Review Source:Stopped in for lunch today - I had heard about their Reuben sandwiches and thought I needed to experience one for myself. Â I ordered the whole Reuben with a bowl of corn chowder. Â My sister ordered an item off the daily special menu: a Gouda cheese, tomato and bacon sandwich with a cup of beer cheese soup. Â Everything was fresh and tasty. Â I found it odd that the Thousand Island dressing for the Reuben is served separately (actually in a salad dressing packet); I liked being able to put extra dressing on my sandwich.
Service was prompt and friendly even in the middle of the lunch rush. Â I'm not sure what the bar area would be like at night, but they had several TVs so I assume this could be a good pick for game day.
Overall the prices were reasonable, with the friendly staff and good food I was quite pleased.
