    Unimpressed.  Nothing special.  Run-of-the-mill menu.

Had dinner here with my family. Great atmosphere, delicious food and very attentive service. Was surprised to find such a great place in a small town, it definitively rivals what you would find in a more metropolitan area. Will definitely be back!

My M/C had regional meetings in Clifton Forge and about the only place that had a room large enough for us was at Jack Mason's. We pulled up to the front and started parking our bikes. One of the waitresses came out to warn us that we were in a handicapped spot. That was our introduction to the friendliness of the folks at Jacks. We moved the bikes to the other side of the street and were welcomed not only by the staff, but the locals that were at the bar. We were shown to their meeting room (which doubled as a game room) and the waitress was getting our coffee orders while we were stripping off the cold weather riding gear. Yeah, we ride in winter too. She was attentive, friendly, and helpful. Most of us ordered the Spicy Tavern Burger, lean ground beef with hot Italian sausage mixed in (I added pepper jack cheese for just a little more kick) and fries. I'm stealing the recipe for that burger! It was fantastic, juicy, spicy and hit the spot! After our meeting we did partake of beer (cold Budweiser!) and the lady who I believe was the owner told us that we might want to take the bikes back to the Red Lantern Inn (review upcoming) and walk back before we had too many. Small town...small town cops was how she put it. We understood completely. We took her advice and returned about 10 minutes later. The place was still semi-busy, but again, service was outstanding.

We are planning another ride down that way just to visit Jack Mason's Tavern!

We stopped on the way out to Illinois and again on the way back. The tavern is lovely with a friendly, knowledgeable staff, great food and a cosy atmosphere. The portion sizes are reasonable. If this pub was in Richmond I would be a regular. Tell your friends. It's right off I-64.

Stopped in on the way through, great clean place, good food, and great service. The place was real clean and there is definitely attention to detail. I will return.  I'm fairly sure we were being served by the owner or manager, she was very nice, and appeared interested in serving us and about us in general, you don't get that very often.

Heard good things so stopped in for brunch (they do it once month).  French toast, potatoes and eggs were fantastic.  Will be back when we are back this way!

Stopped here after a long train ride south on Amtrak (it's directly across the street).

The ambiance is more than I could hope for at most bars in far bigger cities (like Philadelphia, where I live). The game room has a pool table, some arcade games, darts. The floors and accoutrements are furnished of real wood.

What I liked best about the place was its' attention to detail. The waitress refilled empty beverages and brought out our food without interrupting our conversation seamlessly... the bar is stocked... the stuff behind the bar all has a story and everyone seems to know it. The burger was as good as any I've ever paid a lot more money for in much larger cities.

In short, this place is the little bar that could... and I would like to see it continue to flourish long into the future (so that selfishly I could lunch here with mom every time I come down to visit).

Stopped here for dinner on a road trip after seeing good reviews on yelp. Outstanding service and good food! Clean and nice atmosphere. Liked the sweet potato fries with raspberry dipping sauce as recommended by a previous yelp reviewer. My sandwich came with a side and I chose grilled veggies. They were Provencal style and really tasty. Would go back next time in the area. Part of a neat little main street, too.

We pulled off the highway for lunch and discovered this pub/restaurant thanks to yelp. Nice decor and atmosphere - family friendly with plenty of seating. Excellent service! Food was fresh, well prepared and probably very good for the area. Prices ranged from $4 for a kids meal, $6-7 for burgers and sandwiches to $9 for the steak dinner.

I stopped here during a road trip I was on. It is located in a small town with great scenery. The tavern have your typical bar food, like fish and chips. I found the food to be quite good. The beer was nice and cold just what I expected. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a British pub. If your on the road looking for something good to eat I would recommend it.
