Dined there with my wife and daughter and can only give it a three at best. Â Good points were the grilled pork tenderloin and the shrimp risotto. Pork had a tasty gravy with a nice selection of vegetables and a baked potato and my daughters shrimp were spiced well, although she said the risotto was too salty. Â My wife's seafood pasta was thick (although the waitress said it was thin) and had just a few shrimp.
One major weakness is their lack of a robust beer selection.
We may return, but its not on our "A" list right now.
Went with a party of 4, and was cordially escorted to our table by the hostess, who also professionally addressed our drink order. When our server arrived with the drinks it turned out that one of our diners didn't like the selection, and the manager was very helpful, highly professional, took charge and exchanged it twice, before the person was satisfied. We were able to make our dinner selections. When they finally arrived the Seafood Platter had rice instead of the sweet potatoes ordered. After the meal I asked the server for a dessert menu, which was only forthcoming when after 10 minutes I went up to the bar where she was entering an other order for another party and asked for the menu which came 5 minutes later. This sort of mishap occurred again when ordering coffees where one of the persons received it and not the other. Â
Overall the food was good, but the individual service was misdirected at best or amateuristc at worse.
As I had a longtime observing the operation of the staff, it appeared that they were being utilized in a rather arbitrary fashion with each server not having a clearly defined station. I may in the future stop in for a drink during dinner time to observe whether the situation has been resolved....

Great Walnut Pear Candied Salad! Very friendly and attentive staff that check on you throughout your meal. The staff here, including Erika, are awesome, very friendly and outgoing.
You can tell they are trying to give this place a younger vibe, and I think it's great for this area.
The only suggestion I have for this place is that they include some more traditional bar menu items (like buffalo chicken wings), despite their good attempt at adding some class to this bar/restaurant.
Also worth noting is that they have a great outdoor seating area for midday or evening people watching.
We had dinner on a two for Tuesday. Both meals were good. Beautifully presented. My husband enjoyed a tall beer and I had a glass of wine that was the "fish bowl" size I pour myself at home, for $6 and change. Really good deal for wine drinkers. Â We enjoyed it very much. Thought the servers were all friendly. Atmosphere was warm and inviting and everyone seemed comfortable with the regulars at the bar and tables.
Review Source:Nice location. Outside tables make for nice atmosphere, some nights they have live bands which can make for a noisy environment. Â I haven't eaten inside yet. We had lunch, I had the pastrami on pretzle bread. Very good. Wife had Cesar salad with shrimp. Also good. Very nice presentation. Waitstaff was accomidating and knowledgable. Lunch for 2 was 30 bucks.
Review Source:It was 2 for 1 dinner night, so it was very crowded and very noisy. We waited 15 minutes for an outdoor table where it was quieter.
The beer selection is not great. I asked for a Newcastle and the waitress never even heard of it. She told me they had Bud Light Platinum (gross) so I just got a Yuengling.
The fried goat cheese appetizer was very good, as was my grilled grouper entree. It was a tad small for the price but it was 2 for 1 dinner so overall it was an inexpensive dinner. Good food, casual atmosphere, but I felt the service to be clunky.
Here's a place that while it enjoys a certain amount of local popularity, it can be very hit or miss. Â Sometimes we get an excellent server, but other times our server can be inattentive or their demeanor is just not conducive to a pleasant dining experience. Â Most times the macad.grouper and risotto dishes are good. Â Vegetables and salads are mundane, showing very little creativity or effort. Â Soup is usually a better choice. Â Service out of the kitchen can be very slow and I have had on occasion experienced one persons dish in our party coming out much later than everyone else (always really annoying). Â Many dishes are just plain disappointing and over-priced. I'd skip shrimp or scallop dishes. Â They are a particularly poor value. Â As for the martini bar which connects to the restaurant...skip it. Â Drinks are over- priced and service is poor. Most times there is no bartender at the bar and you have to wait for drinks to come over from the bar next-door at Jack's. I expect. More attentive service than that, especially if I'm buying a $9 drink. Also carpet and lounge area is shabby. Â They should consider a makeover with decor and staff. Â Closing off bar from Jack's with doors would also improve vibe and quiet down bar. Â Also get rid of pop videos on big screen and go with cool but sophisticated music.
Review Source:Went to Jack's last night while in Punta Gorda for an anniversary weekend. First off the specials menu is deceptive and worded awkwardly. Saturday night does not have any deals like advertised...strike one.
Draft beers: wait staff names off what is on tap, make selection and comes back to say they no longer have that. Not that the keg is kicked, just just straight don' have it... strike two.
Lastly, for their entree of pan seared scallops for a whopping 21.95 consisted of three large and two medium sea scallops. Over-seasoned and seared on only one side, somewhat undercooked. The side of yellow rice was also crunchy.
My girlfriend's angel hair with shrimp and scallops was 19.95 and consisted of 2 shrimp and 2 scallops and about a half pound of pasta drowned in sauce.
Strike three.
I understand that this is a somewhat pricer restaurant in town but the quality or quantity of food does not justify the prices.
The only reason they get two stars is the overall service from the waitstaff; despite the displeasure of overall dining experience..
We are out of towners from Chicago and stopped in for lunch. Â There were 4 adults and 4 children. Â We have to say the food was EXCELLENT and the service was very friendly and attentive. Â The atmosphere was relaxed but classy and the outdoor seating was ample. Â Prices were average and expected. Â The sandwiches and paninis are quite large as are the childrens' meals. Â Note: for kids under 4 you may want to split meals. Â We can't wait to return next year!
Review Source:Cute! my mom and i stopped in during a road trip and were a little thrown off my the appearance of this place, its a little bit higher scale and dennys...i know, weird description. we shared a turkey panini that was really yummy...fresh turkey with spinach and artichoke dip and caramelized onions. im not sure its worth going leaving your house for but if you are hungry and in the neighborhood im sure you will find something that will whet your appetite and satisfy your hunger.
